The CIBC Adapta™ Mastercard® is a no-annual-fee rewards credit card from CIBC that earns Adapta points on everyday spending. With automatic category optimization and a low income requirement, it's a solid option for those looking for a simple, fee-free rewards card.

Each month, you'll automatically earn Adapta points at the following rates:

• Earn 1.5 Adapta points for every dollar you spend in your top 3 spend categories
• Earn 2 Adapta points for every dollar you spend on eligible travel purchases made through CIBC by Expedia
• Earn 1 Adapta point for every dollar you spend on all other purchases

• Grocery and drug stores
• Pet stores
• Dining and restaurants
• Gas and EV charging
• Transit and parking
• Entertainment
• E-games and subscriptions
• Home improvement
• Electronics
• Clothing
• Health and beauty
• Hotels and motels

There is a cap of 40,000 points per year on the accelerated 1.5x earning rate. Once you hit that cap, those categories revert to 1 point per dollar for the remainder of the year.

Adapta points can be redeemed in two main ways:

• 1,500 Adapta points = $10 when redeemed towards your credit card balance or a recent purchase
• 1,200 Adapta points = $10 when redeemed towards select CIBC financial products

You can also use the Shop with Points feature to redeem Adapta points directly at checkout for eligible purchases.

Plus, cardholders can save up to 10¢ per litre at participating Pioneer, Fas Gas, Ultramar, and Chevron gas stations when you link your card with Journie Rewards.

Other notable features include CIBC Pace It™, which lets you convert eligible purchases into fixed monthly installment plans, and Mastercard Zero Liability Protection, which ensures you won't be held responsible for unauthorized transactions.

The CIBC Adapta™ Mastercard® includes basic purchase protection, underwritten by Belair Insurance Company Inc.

Purchase Security Insurance covers eligible items purchased with your card against loss, theft, or damage for 90 days from the date of purchase, up to a maximum of $60,000 per year.

Extended Warranty Insurance adds up to one additional year of coverage beyond the original manufacturer's warranty on eligible items.

There is no travel insurance included with this card — no emergency medical, trip cancellation, trip interruption, baggage, or rental car coverage. If you're booking travel with this card, you'll want to layer in coverage from a premium card or purchase standalone travel insurance separately.
