Getting More from Visa Infinite: Every Benefit from Infinite to Infinite Privilege

Most Canadians carry a Visa Infinite card for its earning rates, its welcome bonus, or its insurance package. Very few ever open the benefits that come from Visa itself.
That's a shame, because the network layer includes hotel perks, chef-led dining events, free mobile data, and a growing portal of destination benefits that work the same no matter which bank issued your card.
In this guide, I'll break down what each of the three tiers gets you, from the standard Visa Infinite benefits through the new Visa Infinite + tier to the top-end Visa Infinite Privilege perks.
The Visa Card Tiers in Canada
Canadian Visa credit cards are grouped into tiers, and the tier determines which network benefits your card carries. Entry-level products sit at the Visa Classic and Visa Platinum levels, while the premium segment is split across three Infinite tiers.
| Tier | Typical Income Requirement | Typical Annual Fee | Example Cards |
|---|---|---|---|
| Visa Infinite | $60,000 personal or $100,000 household | $99–165 | CIBC Aeroplan® Visa Infinite* Card, RBC® Avion Visa Infinite† |
| Visa Infinite + | $60,000–80,000 personal | $120–240 | Scotiabank Passport® Visa Infinite +* Card, Wealthsimple Visa Infinite +* Credit Card, TD® Aeroplan® Visa Infinite* Card (being upgraded) |
| Visa Infinite Privilege | $150,000–200,000 personal or $200,000–300,000 household | $240–599 | TD® Aeroplan® Visa Infinite Privilege* Card, RBC® Avion Visa Infinite Privilege† |
Income requirements are set by the issuers to Visa's standards, so they're consistent across most cards in a tier. RBC and Desjardins hold their Infinite Privilege products to a higher bar of $200,000 in personal income, while most other issuers ask for $150,000.
One thing worth clearing up early is that insurance coverage isn't a tier benefit. Travel and purchase protections are set by each issuer on each card, so two Visa Infinite cards can have very different insurance packages while sharing every benefit below.
Hotel Perks Across Every Infinite Tier
The anchor benefit is the Visa Infinite Luxury Hotel Collection, a curated program of more than 900 properties worldwide. Booking through the program layers on perks like a room upgrade on arrival and 3pm check-out when available, complimentary continental breakfast, free in-room internet, and a $25 food or beverage voucher.

Visa Infinite cardholders can also enrol for automatic Platinum status in RSVP Rewards, a loyalty program at participating hotels across Canada, and Infinite Privilege cardholders get Diamond status.

On the more practical end, Visa Infinite cardholders can register their Booking.com account to earn up to 8% back in travel credits, capped at $230 (USD), on qualifying accommodation bookings.
If you regularly book independent luxury properties with cash, these perks can rival what a hotel loyalty program delivers, without requiring any status.
Dining, Wine, and Event Access
Visa's Canadian dining benefits are easy to overlook, since they're event-based rather than baked into your statement.
- Visa Infinite Dining Series: ticketed multi-course dinners with beverage pairings, hosted by top chefs and restaurants across Canada
- Wine Country program: curated tours, elevated tastings, and preferred pricing in Canadian wine regions
- Culinary Escape: chef-led dining experiences built around local Canadian food culture
Cardholders also get entertainment access, including ticket pre-sales, priority lines, and lounge access at the Toronto International Film Festival, plus presale tickets to Canada Soccer National Team home matches one day before the general public.
Events sell out quickly, and the Dining Series in particular has a loyal following. If one lands in your city, the pricing tends to be reasonable for the calibre of restaurant involved.
Concierge, Golf, and Free Mobile Data
Every Visa Infinite card includes a 24/7 concierge service that can handle travel planning, dining reservations, and gift sourcing. We've covered how credit card concierge services compare if you're curious whether they're actually useful.
Golfers get automatic Silver Status in the Access® Rewards program, which earns points on rounds that can be redeemed for complimentary green fees.
The benefit I use the most is mobile data. Visa Infinite cardholders get one free 1 GB GigSky eSIM plan per year, valid for 15 days, plus 20% off additional plans in more than 175 countries. You claim it by adding your card in the GigSky app.

Visa Destinations Is the Newest Addition
Launched for Canadian cardholders in 2026, Visa Destinations is a portal of curated offers and experiences in specific destinations at destinations.visa.com. Any Canadian Visa card can use it, but the Infinite tiers get the better offers.
The portal launched with nine destination pages, spanning Paris, London, Dubai, Miami, New York City, San Francisco, Mexico City, Italy, and Thailand, and more are being added. Offers are organized into categories like culture, dining, shopping, travel, and wellness.
The headline perk so far is a complimentary fast-track arrival service at Bangkok Suvarnabhumi Airport, available once per cardholder until December 31, 2026. An escort meets you at the gate and walks you through expedited immigration. Paris adds skip-the-line Fast Lane access at the Musée du Louvre for you and up to three guests.

GigSky added these plans on April 1, 2026. When travelling to a Visa Destinations country, cardholders on all three Infinite tiers can claim seven days of unlimited GigSky data once every 365 days, while other Visa cards get three days.
The list now covers nine countries, including the United States, the United Kingdom, France, Spain, Mexico, the United Arab Emirates, Thailand, South Africa, and Canada.
These unlimited plans are new, and no Visa tier offered them before this year. They carry a fair usage policy, with up to 3.5 GB at full speed per day before speeds are reduced until the 24-hour window resets.
I'd expect the destination list and the offers to keep evolving, so it's worth a browse before any trip to a covered city.
What Visa Infinite + Adds
The Visa Infinite + tier arrived in Canada in April 2026, when Scotiabank moved its Passport and Momentum cards into the new tier. Wealthsimple's Visa Infinite + card sits here as well, and in October 2026, TD started upgrading TD Aeroplan Visa Infinite cardholders to Visa Infinite +. My own card has already been switched over, with a replacement card in the mail and the 10 GB data plan added.
On the network side, Visa Infinite + carries the same GigSky benefits as Visa Infinite. The bigger data perk comes from the issuers, and every Canadian Visa Infinite + card so far adds a free 10 GB GigSky global data plan, valid for 15 consecutive days and renewable annually, on top of the standard 1 GB plan.

Travel Essentials by GigSky rounds it out with unlimited access to low-bandwidth apps like messaging, navigation, and email even when you don't have an active data plan.

The table below lines up the GigSky benefits by tier.
| Tier | Free GigSky Data | Discount on Extra Plans | Visa Destinations Unlimited Data |
|---|---|---|---|
| Visa Infinite | One 1 GB, 15-day plan per year | 20% | 7 days |
| Visa Infinite + | One 1 GB, 15-day plan per year, plus the issuer's 10 GB plan and Travel Essentials | 20% | 7 days |
| Visa Infinite Privilege | Two 1 GB, 15-day plans per year | 30% | 7 days |
Since the 10 GB plan comes from the issuer rather than Visa, it's worth confirming on your own card's benefits page. Wealthsimple also adds it to its Infinite Privilege card.

What Visa Infinite Privilege Adds
The Infinite Privilege tier is where the airport benefits live, and it's aimed squarely at frequent travellers.
Cardholders get a membership in the Visa Airport Companion Program, which provides access to a network of more than 1,200 airport lounges worldwide. The number of complimentary visits varies by card, so check your card's benefits guide for specifics.
On top of lounge access, Infinite Privilege cardholders enjoy priority benefits at select Canadian airports, currently Montreal, Ottawa, and Toronto Billy Bishop.

The rest of the tier's additions build on the core benefits.
- Relais & Châteaux perks: benefits at the collection's luxury properties worldwide
- OpenTable priority reservations: access to hard-to-get tables at select restaurants
- Golf perks: Access® Rewards Platinum Status, a step up from the Silver status on the lower tiers, plus access to Troon Privé
- Double data allowance: the complimentary 1 GB GigSky plan can be claimed twice per year instead of once, and the discount on additional plans rises to 30%
- Dedicated concierge line: the same 24/7 service, with a separate Infinite Privilege number
Whether those perks justify an annual fee of up to $599 depends heavily on how you travel, and we break down the card-by-card math in our guide to whether the Visa Infinite Privilege cards are worth it.
Which Cards Sit in Each Tier

The Visa Infinite + tier is growing quickly. Scotiabank's two rebranded cards and Wealthsimple's entry came first, and TD is now moving its TD® Aeroplan® Visa Infinite* Card into the tier. TD hasn't announced a timeline, so if you hold the card, your replacement card and the GigSky app will show which tier you're on. All four Visa Infinite + cards are compared in the section above.
At the top, the Infinite Privilege tier now includes eight issuers, a big change from just a few years ago when only RBC, CIBC, and TD played in this space.

How to Actually Use These Benefits
Unlike earning rates, network benefits mostly require a one-time setup before they deliver any value. Each benefit has its own front door, which is part of why so few cardholders ever use them.
- Luxury Hotel Collection: book through the program's dedicated booking site, linked from Visa Canada's benefit pages
- Booking.com credits: register your Booking.com account with your eligible card before you book
- Dining Series and Wine Country: tickets are sold per event, so watch for announcements in your city
- GigSky data: download the GigSky app and set your eligible card as the default payment method
- Visa Destinations: verify your card at destinations.visa.com, then browse offers by destination
- Concierge: call the tier's dedicated line, no registration needed
Visa Canada's official pages for each tier list the full terms, and the benefit lineup does change over time. The Bangkok fast track and the Infinite + data plan both arrived within the past year, so a benefit that wasn't there when you got your card might be there now.
Conclusion
If you already hold a Visa Infinite card, start with the benefits that don't require an event or a trip. Register your Booking.com account, link your card in the GigSky app, and verify your card on Visa Destinations. Those three take about ten minutes combined.
If you're choosing between tiers, my honest take is that the standard Visa Infinite tier delivers most of the everyday value, while the jump to Infinite Privilege only makes sense once you're flying often enough to lean on the lounge access and airport priority.
Visa has added a new tier, a new perks portal, and a limited-time airport fast track all within the past year and a half. The network clearly wants these cards to compete on benefits rather than earning rates alone, and I'd expect more additions before the year is out.
