The Air France/KLM Flying Blue loyalty program is well-known for its monthly rotating series of Promo Rewards, which offer 25–50% discounts on short-haul and long-haul redemptions on Air France and KLM flights.
The program has just released its Promo Rewards for December 2022, and there are some fantastic offers to destinations in Canada and across the United States, including in business class.
Let’s take a look at what opportunities are available this month.
What Are Flying Blue Promo Rewards?
Promo Rewards are a major perk to being a member of Air France/KLM Flying Blue. Promo Rewards are released on a monthly basis and offer 25–50% off in select markets on Air France & KLM flights in various classes of service.
This month’s long-haul Promo Rewards include:
- 50% discount on KLM business class awards between Europe and Montreal
- 25% discount on KLM business class awards between Europe and Toronto
- 25% discount on KLM economy awards between Europe and Austin
- 25% discount on Air France economy awards between Europe and Detroit
- 25% discount on Air France economy awards between Europe and Atlanta
- 25% discount on Air France premium economy awards between Europe and Mexico City
This month, there are six long-haul Promo Rewards, and they’re to destinations in Canada, the United States, and Mexico. The Promo Rewards for Montreal and Toronto are for KLM business class, including a 50% discount for flights to or from Montreal.
If you’re planning a trip to Europe next spring, it could be well worth your while to consider taking advantage of one of these offers.
For example, you can score flights from Montreal to Budapest via Amsterdam with KLM for just 27,500 miles in business class.
Or, you can fly from Montreal to Prague via Amsterdam with KLM for 28,750 Flying Blue miles in business class.
You could even snag business class flights from Toronto to Amsterdam with KLM for only 41,250 Flying Blue miles.
Or maybe a flight from Detroit to Paris in economy with Air France suits you, at only 15,000 miles.
If you’re heading from Paris to Mexico City, why not fly in Air France premium economy for just 30,000 Flying Blue miles to jazz up your flight.
Furthermore, there are five other Promo Rewards for short- and medium-haul travel within Europe. Intra-European destinations this month include Marseille, Lyon, Venice, Lyon, and Toulouse.
Despite not being listed on the Promo Rewards landing page, it appears that the 50% discount on business class flights from Montreal also applies to Air France flights.
It’s fantastic to see Promo Rewards to Canadian destinations in business class, especially with numerous seats available. Indeed, you won’t find a much cheaper way to get across the Atlantic in a lie-flat bed than what you can find with this month’s Promo Rewards, so if you have a trip to Europe planned next spring, be sure to secure your seats soon.
Promo Reward tickets are available for one-way and round-trip flights, allowing for flexibility in your travel plans. Promo Reward discounts are only applicable on the lowest standard award pricing when available, and not on dynamically priced flight segments.
Keep in mind that Flying Blue Promo Rewards come with a booking deadline. You must book the December 2022 Promo Rewards during the month of December; however, the travel window extends all the way through May 31, 2023. This is a more favourable timeline compared to shorter booking windows on Promo Rewards in the past.
Lastly, it’s important to note that Promo Reward tickets typically cannot be changed, cancelled, or refunded.
