The Air France/KLM Flying Blue loyalty program is well-known for its monthly rotating series of Promo Rewards, which offer 25–50% discounts on short-haul and long-haul redemptions on Air France and KLM flights.
The program has just released its Promo Rewards for January 2023, and there are offers to destinations in the United States, the Caribbean, South America, the Middle East, and countries in Africa.
Let’s take a look at what opportunities are available this month.
What Are Flying Blue Promo Rewards?
Promo Rewards are a major perk to being a member of Air France/KLM Flying Blue. Promo Rewards are released on a monthly basis and offer 25–50% off in select markets on Air France & KLM flights in various classes of service.
This month’s long-haul Promo Rewards include:
- 25% discount on KLM economy awards between Europe and Boston
- 25% discount on KLM economy awards between Europe and Washington
- 25% discount on KLM economy awards between Europe and Aruba
- 25% discount on KLM economy awards between Europe and Dammam/Dhahran
- 25% discount on Air France economy awards between Europe and Miami
- 50% discount on Air France economy awards between Europe and Djibouti
- 50% discount on Air France economy awards between Europe and Cayenne, French Guiana
- 25% discount on Air France economy awards between Europe and Sint Maarten
- 25% discount on Air France economy awards between Europe and Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso
- 25% discount on Air France economy awards between Europe and Lomé, Togo
In addition to the ten long-haul Promo Rewards, there are 19 short-haul Promo Rewards available for intra-European travel.
This is one of the largest lists of Promo Rewards we’ve seen to date, and it covers a range of continents. Unfortunately, none of the Promo Rewards offer discounts for business class this time around.
However, there are some intriguing options for travel in economy to far-flung destinations, which could be of interest to anyone looking to nest a trip to another continent when visiting Europe or for travellers based in Europe to score a deal to somewhere far away.
For travellers based in the United States or Canada, you can score cheap flights between Boston, Washington, or Miami and Europe in economy class for just 11,250–12,750 Flying Blue miles.
Indeed, you won’t find a much cheaper way to get across the Atlantic than what you can find with this month’s Promo Rewards. If you have a trip to Europe planned in the next few months, be sure to secure your seats soon if you can access any of these hubs.
Promo Reward tickets are available for one-way and round-trip flights, allowing for flexibility in your travel plans. Promo Reward discounts are only applicable on the lowest standard award pricing when available, and not on dynamically priced flight segments.
Keep in mind that Flying Blue Promo Rewards come with a booking deadline. You must book the January 2023 Promo Rewards during the month of January; however, the travel window extends all the way through June 30, 2023. This is a more favourable timeline compared to shorter booking windows on Promo Rewards in the past.
Lastly, it’s important to note that Promo Reward tickets typically cannot be changed, cancelled, or refunded.

As you decide whether this promotion is a good opportunity for you to meet your travel goals, here’s a look back at Air France/KLM’s past Promo Rewards:
With rotating 25–50% discounts across its route network, Air France/KLM Flying Blue’s monthly Promo Rewards can be a great way to save miles if you’re planning a trip to, from, or through Europe.
If you’re looking to save on economy class flights from US hubs to Europe over the winter and spring, you’ll certainly want to take advantage of this month’s Promo Rewards.
