Miles are sent from MBNA to Alaska Airlines once a week, usually on the Sunday after your statement posts to your account.
After you’ve opened the MBNA Alaska Airlines MasterCard and met the spending threshold of $1,000 in the first three months, you’ll be receiving the signup bonus of either 30,000 miles or 20,000 miles (depending on whether you got the World Elite or the Platinum Plus).
These miles will take a while to arrive in your Mileage Plan account. First, upon seeing the monthly statement post to your account, you should verify that your Mileage Plan account number and the points you’ll be receiving matches your expectation.
(Note that the MBNA credit card statement will have “000” before the Alaska Mileage Plan account number – you want to verify that the nine-digit account number following the zeroes is correct.)
MBNA usually sends the miles over to Alaska Airlines in batches once a week, and it usually happens on the Sunday after your statement date posts. Depending on the statement date, then, it could take up to a week for the miles to show up in your Mileage Plan account.
