Convert Marriott Bonvoy Points to Aeroplan with a 15% Bonus

Aeroplan has just brought back its annual Marriott Bonvoy promotion for the month of October 2026.

Until October 31, 2026, you can convert your Marriott Bonvoy points into Aeroplan points and get a 15% bonus.

We saw this promotion last October too, but the math works out a little better this time around.

Convert Marriott Bonvoy Points to Aeroplan with a 15% Bonus

For the month of October 2026, you can convert Marriott Bonvoy points to Aeroplan points and get a 15% bonus. Aeroplan is calling it your only chance this year.

Typically, you can transfer Marriott Bonvoy points to Aeroplan at a rate of 3:1, which means that if you were to transfer 30,000 Bonvoy points, you’d get 10,000 Aeroplan points.

However, you also get a bonus of 5,000 Aeroplan points for transferring 60,000 Marriott Bonvoy points, which makes it the optimal rate for transfers. In other words, if you transfer 60,000 Marriott Bonvoy points to Aeroplan, you get 25,000 Aeroplan points, which improves the transfer rate to 3:1.25.

This year’s offer is a slight improvement over last October’s. The 5,000 extra Aeroplan points now count toward the 15% bonus too, while last year the bonus only applied to the standard 20,000 points.

Here’s how the two promotions compare for every 60,000 Marriott Bonvoy points converted:

In other words, the bonus now applies to the full 25,000 points, which works out to 750 more Aeroplan points per 60,000 Bonvoy points than last year.

With all of the bonuses factored in, you’d effectively get a 3:1.44 transfer rate from Marriott Bonvoy to Air Canada Aeroplan, which is close to a 2:1 transfer rate and about 44% more than the standard rate.

Since the extra 5,000 points only kick in at 60,000, it’s best to convert in chunks of 60,000. Smaller transfers still earn the 15% bonus, so 30,000 Bonvoy points would get you 10,000 Aeroplan points plus 1,500 bonus points. Transfers start at 3,000 Bonvoy points, and you can convert up to 240,000 per day.

At our valuations of 0.8 cents per Bonvoy point and 2.0 cents per Aeroplan point (CAD), 60,000 Bonvoy points worth about $480 become 28,750 Aeroplan points worth about $575.

Aeroplan members don’t need to register to take part in the offer, but you’ll need to make the conversion between October 1 and October 31, 2026 (Eastern time), through the Marriott Bonvoy website or by calling 1-800-450-4442.

Before you convert, make sure the name on your Aeroplan account exactly matches the name on your Marriott Bonvoy account, or the transfer won’t go through.

As per the terms and conditions, the bonus Aeroplan points can take 8–10 weeks after the end of the promotion to show up in your account.

While this bonus offer is certainly worth considering if you don’t otherwise have a use for your hotel points, it’s good to keep in mind that Aeroplan is a transfer partner with a host of financial institutions in Canada and the US, making points relatively easy to come by in the grand scheme of things no matter where you live:

Plus, you can earn Aeroplan points through the eStore, or purchase them outright during frequent promotions.

Since Aeroplan points are generally easy to come by, you might want to consider hanging on to those Marriott Bonvoy points and instead transfer them to an airline program that’s much more difficult to access or use them for aspirational hotel stays instead.

However, if you were otherwise going to transfer your Marriott Bonvoy points to Aeroplan, this transfer bonus presents an elevated rate of about 44% above the norm, and you’ll get an effective transfer rate of 3:1.44 by taking advantage of the promotion in chunks of 60,000.

Conclusion

Air Canada Aeroplan has brought back its annual 15% bonus on Marriott Bonvoy conversions, and the math is slightly better than last year.

This time, the bonus also applies to Marriott’s extra 5,000 points, so you’ll get 28,750 Aeroplan points for every 60,000 Marriott Bonvoy points you convert, an effective 3:1.44 rate.
