Other highlights from WestJet’s 2025 summer schedule include extending service from seasonal to year-round on the following routes:

  • Winnipeg (YWG) to Orlando (MCO)
  • Kelowna (YLW) to Seattle (SEA)
  • Calgary (YYC) to Fort Lauderdale (FLL)
  • Calgary (YYC) to Tampa (TPA)

For WestJet’s transpacific routes, its daily service to Tokyo is being complemented with increased capacity on the Calgary–Seoul Incheon route.

In relation to the array of new and expanded summer routes, Executive VP and Chief Commercial Officer of the WestJet Group, John Weatherill, says:

WestJet’s expanded summer schedule reflects our continued commitment to connecting Canadians by increasing our domestic and international capacity. In Canada alone we are growing capacity by 12 percent, operating to 41 airports with over 3,000 weekly departures. Offering more options for business and leisure travel, we’re excited to see our guests’ stories take off this summer as we ensure Canadians have affordable and reliable access to visit the people and destinations they love.

WestJet says the recent acquisition of nine leased Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft, along with Swoop and Sunwing planes, will allow the airline to bolster its strategic fleet growth, while managing delays related to direct-from-factory aircraft.

Updating and refreshing the interior cabins of all of these aircraft also remains a priority as part of the airline’s existing fleet reconfiguration plans to ensure a consistent passenger experience on all aircraft as soon as possible.

Conclusion

WestJet has unveiled a comprehensive summer schedule for 2025, which will grow its seat capacity by ten percent across its network.

The newly announced schedule includes 11 new routes, including the airline’s first-ever service from Calgary to Anchorage, Alaska.

Other new transborder routes include Calgary–Raleigh/Durham, Calgary–Minneapolis, Edmonton–Chicago, Vancouver–Boston, and Vancouver–Tampa. Additionally, new transatlantic routes include St. John’s–Paris, St. John’s–Dublin, and Halifax–Paris.
