GHA Discovery Promotion: Earn D$50 per Stay at Minor Hotels

GHA Discovery is back with another Minor Hotels promotion, and this one is about as simple as hotel bonuses get. Every eligible stay of two nights or more at a participating Minor Hotels property earns a flat D$50, on top of the Discovery Dollars you'd normally earn.

You'll need to register and book between September 24 and November 30, 2026, and check out by January 31, 2027. That's a long enough runway to cover a fall trip, the holidays, or a January escape somewhere warm.

If you've got an Anantara, Avani, or NH stay anywhere on the horizon, it's worth registering now. On an affordable hotel, D$50 can cover a surprising share of the room rate.

What Is GHA Discovery?

GHA Discovery is the loyalty program of Global Hotel Alliance, a network of over 40 independent hotel brands operating in 100+ countries. Minor Hotels is one of the largest groups within the alliance, with brands like Anantara, Avani, NH Hotels & Resorts, Oaks, and Tivoli.

Members earn Discovery Dollars (D$) instead of traditional points. D$ are a cash-equivalent currency redeemable for room nights, dining, spa treatments, and other on-property extras, and each D$ is worth exactly $1 (USD).

How the D$50 Minor Hotels Promotion Works

GHA is calling this one the Minor Hotels Mega Reward. Once you've registered, each completed stay of at least two consecutive nights at a participating property earns D$50 in Promotional D$, credited after checkout.

Participating brands: Anantara, Avani, NH Hotels, NH Collection, nhow, iStay, Colbert Collection, Oaks, and Tivoli.

The terms don't cap how many stays can earn the bonus. They do close the obvious loopholes, though. Back-to-back stays at the same hotel count as one stay, a booking with multiple rooms counts once, and overlapping stays only earn the bonus on one of them.

Key dates and conditions

• Registration and booking window: September 24 – November 30, 2026. You must register before you book, and bookings made before September 24 don't count
• Eligible stay period: September 24, 2026 – January 31, 2027. You must check out by January 31, so a stay that runs past it earns nothing
• Booking channels: the GHA Discovery app or website, the Minor brand websites (minorhotels.com, anantara.com, avanihotels.com, nh-hotels.com, tivolihotels.com, and oakshotels.com), or directly with the hotel
• Ineligible rates: Expedia, Booking.com, and other online travel agencies, plus tour operator, corporate, wholesale, travel-industry, and complimentary rates
• Promotional D$ expiry: six months from issuance, so plan a future GHA stay to use them

Example: Two Nights at Avani+ Koh Lanta

Here's how that plays out on a real booking. Two nights at Avani+ Koh Lanta Krabi Resort from October 20 to 22, 2026, booked directly on the GHA Discovery website, come to $51 (USD) per night at the member rate before taxes, or $102 (USD) for the stay.

At that price, the D$50 bonus alone is worth almost half of what you'd pay for the room. Add your base D$, which ranges from 4% for Silver to 7% for Titanium members, and you're looking at roughly D$54 to D$57 back on a $102 (USD) stay.

There's a bonus on top of the bonus, too. If this is your first Avani stay of 2026, the same two nights should also qualify for GHA's Scavenger Hunt, which pays another D$50 for a two-night stay at any brand you haven't used yet this year. Since the stay checks out on October 22, it lands inside that promotion's October 31 deadline.

That would bring the bonuses to D$100 on a $102 (USD) stay. The completed stay also earns five entries into the Scavenger Hunt draw, plus one more just for registering, where ten members will win D$5,000 and ten will win Lifetime Titanium status when GHA draws winners by December 7, 2026.

The flat bonus does all the heavy lifting on cheaper hotels like this. At a pricier Anantara resort, D$50 is a pleasant top-up rather than the reason to book, but it still adds up across a multi-stop trip.

Stacking with the Scavenger Hunt

The Scavenger Hunt runs until October 31, 2026 and needs its own registration, separate from this promotion. Stays at a Minor brand you've already used this year won't earn its D$50, but they still count for the Minor Hotels bonus.

Both sets of terms say the offers can't be combined with other promotions unless explicitly stated. In my experience, though, GHA promotions like these have stacked before, so I'd register for both and let the D$ post. I wouldn't count the second D$50 as guaranteed until it shows up in your account.

Earn an Extra D$5 by Booking in the App

GHA Discovery also pays an extra D$5 per stay when you book through its mobile app. It's small, but it stacks with the Minor Hotels bonus and costs nothing, so there's no reason not to book through the app if you can.

That brings the Koh Lanta example to D$105 in bonuses if both promotions pay out, before your base D$.

Which Credit Card Should You Use?

Since your stay will likely be charged in a foreign currency, pay with a card that charges no foreign transaction fees and earns well on travel.

One thing to keep in mind is that you don't earn any D$ on the portion of a stay paid with Discovery Dollars. If you're sitting on D$ from this promotion or from buying D$ at a discount, plan to use them on a separate stay from your promotional ones.

Conclusion

A flat D$50 per two-night stay is one of the easier GHA promotions to take advantage of, since there's no minimum spend and no stated limit on the number of stays. It works best at affordable Avani, NH, and Oaks properties, where the bonus covers a big chunk of the bill.

If I had a Thailand trip coming up this fall, I'd register for both this and the Scavenger Hunt, book a two-night stay at a Minor brand I haven't used this year through the GHA app, and check out before October 31. Otherwise, the window runs through January, so there's plenty of time to slot a Minor Hotels stay into a winter getaway.
