Air Canada to Resume Ottawa–London Heathrow Route

Good news for Canadians looking to fly non-stop from the Nation’s Capital to Europe, as Air Canada has announced its Ottawa (YOW) to London Heathrow (LHR) route will resume next spring.

Ottawa-based travellers will be able to fly non-stop to London’s Heathrow Airport beginning March 31, 2025. Flights will be operated four times weekly with Air Canada’s Boeing 787 Dreamliner fleet.

Air Canada to Resume Ottawa–London Heathrow Route

Air Canada is set to further boost its schedule serving Canada’s capital region with the resumption of non-stop flights from Ottawa (YOW) to London Heathrow (LHR).

The airline will fly the seasonal route four-times weekly on Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays beginning March 31, 2025 through to October 25, 2025.

On Mondays and Wednesdays, the route will operate with the following flight times:

  • AC888 Ottawa (YOW) to London (LHR), departing 6:40pm, and arriving 6:30am the following day
  • AC889 London (LHR) to Ottawa (YOW), departing 2:05pm and arriving 4:35pm

On Thursdays and Saturdays, the route will operate with the following flight times:

  • AC888 Ottawa (YOW) to London (LHR), departing 8:55pm, and arriving 8:35am the following day
  • AC889 London (LHR) to Ottawa (YOW), departing 12:40pm and arriving 1:20pm

The resumed route will be serviced by Air Canada’s 787 Dreamliner fleet, offering passengers a choice of three cabins: Air Canada’s Signature business class featuring lie-flat individual pods, premium economy featuring larger seats with additional leg room, and economy featuring complimentary chef-inspired and designed meals, wines, and beverages.

Air Canada is resuming its Ottawa–London flight next spring

This route was last operated in March 2020, according to data from Cirium, an aviation analytics company.

The flights are loaded into Air Canada’s schedule, and can be booked using cash or Aeroplan points.

In addition to the Ottawa–London Heathrow flight resumption, Air Canada recently announced it was significantly expanding services from Ottawa to points across Canada and the sunny south this winter.

Air Canada will operate up to 229 weekly flights to and from Ottawa next year across a range of regional, domestic, international and transborder flights.

The airline has designated Ottawa as a test location for trialing and refining new customer service initiatives designed to improve the customer journey.
