Atmos Rewards Global Getaways for September

Atmos Rewards has released its September round of Global Getaways, and this one is worth a close look if you have any Atmos points sitting around. Six destinations are on sale at up to 50% off the usual award price, with one-way economy flights starting at 20,000 points to London, La Paz, and Tokyo.

The constraint is the clock. Bookings close today, September 5, 2026, so this is a same-day decision. Most of the travel falls between January 5 and February 28, 2027, with Tokyo the exception on a window that runs from now through November 18, 2026.

One thing to flag early. The terms require travel to originate in the United States, so plan on positioning to a US gateway rather than departing from home.

How Atmos Rewards Global Getaways Work

Global Getaways is a recurring award sale that drops the economy award price on Alaska Airlines, Hawaiian Airlines, and partner flights to a handful of destinations, sometimes by as much as half. It used to run quarterly, but Alaska moved it to a monthly cadence in June 2026 as part of Atmos Members Day, which lands on the first Wednesday of every month. More rounds, but a booking window of only a few days each time.

If that sounds familiar, it's the same idea as Flying Blue Promo Rewards and KrisFlyer Spontaneous Escapes, both of which we cover every month. Two things set this one apart. The discounts extend to partner airlines rather than just the program's own flights, which is unusual, and they only apply in economy, where the other two include premium cabins.

Prices are "starting at" figures, and the discounted seats are limited and first-come, first-served. Nothing in the search results is labelled as a Global Getaway, so you need to know the price you're looking for and go find it.

To find them, log in on the Alaska Airlines website, tick the "Use points" box, and enter your route. Ticking "Flexible dates" as well brings up a calendar view showing the lowest award price on each day, which makes the promotional dates jump out.

A few program rules apply as usual. Atmos Rewards lets you combine Alaska Airlines or Hawaiian Airlines with only one partner airline on a single one-way, so an itinerary that needs two different partners won't price. You can add a stopover of up to 14 days on an eligible international one-way, which is a nice bonus on a discounted award. Lap infants aren't permitted on international partner awards, so a child under two needs their own seat at the going rate.

London at 20,000 points one-way is the headline for most readers. Searches from New York show the 20,000-point price on most dates in the window, with around $26 (USD) in taxes and fees.

Taipei at 30,000 points has also been pricing widely, and it's the cheapest of the long-haul Asia options in this round.

Tokyo is the tighter one. The 27,500-point price from the US West Coast has been scarce, particularly if you're starting further east.

Honolulu to Tokyo at 20,000 points on Hawaiian Airlines is easier to find, and it's the cheapest seat in the whole promotion.

La Paz has been showing up at 20,000 points from Los Angeles, and on some dates even lower.

Athens prices at the full 25,000 points out of Seattle, on an Alaska Airlines 787 to London and British Airways onward, for about $46 in taxes and fees. There's no non-stop to look for, since Alaska's own seasonal Seattle to Athens service doesn't begin until May 2027, well after this travel window closes.

Apia is the one we couldn't confirm at its starting price, so treat Samoa as worth a search rather than a sure thing.

Can You Book These from Canada?

The terms are explicit that travel must originate in the United States, and Tokyo prices that way. A Vancouver search wouldn't go below 42,500 points against the 27,500 promotional fare, even routed through Seattle, which fits how Tokyo's deal is written at 20,000 points from Honolulu and 27,500 from the US West Coast.

Pricing hasn't been entirely consistent on that point across every route, so a quick search from your own airport costs nothing before you plan around a border crossing. Build the trip around a US departure regardless, since that's what the terms call for.

That means treating a US gateway as your starting point and getting there separately. Book the award out of Seattle, Los Angeles, or an East Coast hub, then add a cheap cash fare or a short separate award to meet it. Seattle is the obvious choice from the west, with Alaska Airlines flying Vancouver to Seattle many times a day, and it's where the Tokyo and Taipei partner flights tend to originate.

One trade-off worth pricing out on London. The British Airways non-stop carries about $244 in taxes and surcharges, while the Alaska Airlines routing through Seattle on the same day runs about $68. Neither is obviously better, so it comes down to whether you would rather spend the points or the cash.

Earning Atmos points from Canada takes a bit of planning, since there's no Canadian co-branded card and no direct transfer partner. The workable routes are Marriott Bonvoy, which transfers at 3:1 with a 5,000-point bonus for every 60,000 points moved, and buying points outright during one of Atmos Rewards' periodic bonus sales. Neither is fast, so this round mainly rewards people who already hold a balance.

If you do, the math survives the detour. We value Atmos Rewards points at 2.2 cents (CAD) each, which puts a 20,000-point one-way to London at roughly $440 (CAD) in points. Cash economy fares across the Atlantic in that window rarely get close to that, with enough room left over to cover a positioning flight. These awards also keep the standard Atmos Rewards cancellation terms, so they can be refunded at no cost apart from the partner booking fee, which makes booking on spec far less risky with a deadline this tight.

Conclusion

This is a good round of Global Getaways, with London, Tokyo, and Taipei all priced at levels that are hard to beat in economy. The Members Day format gives you only a few days to act, and for this round today is the last of them.

If you're holding Atmos Rewards points and can travel in the January or February window, search your dates now, because the booking window closes at the end of today. Awards can be cancelled at no cost beyond the partner booking fee, so locking in a date you're only half sure about is a low-risk way to beat the deadline and decide later.
