Earn a further 35,000 Bonus Points 365 days after the account open date when you spend a minimum of $20,000 within the first 365 days. If the Credit Card is cancelled within 365 days from the account opening date, all Bonus Points earned within that period may be cancelled. Bonuses & Fees

The welcome bonus is structured across three spending tiers in the first 365 days.

You’ll earn 45,000 Bonus Points after $5,000 in net purchases within the first 110 days, an additional 20,000 Bonus Points after $10,000 within the first 180 days, and a further 35,000 Bonus Points after $20,000 within the first 365 days.* That adds up to 100,000 Bonus Points, worth up to $665 toward eGift Cards or at participating Blue Rewards Partners.

On top of the points bonus, you’ll receive a $200 NEXUS statement credit in your first year.* That’s a strong inclusion for any frequent cross-border traveller.

The $150 annual fee is waived in the first year.* Cardholders who pair the card with a BMO Premium Chequing Account get the $150 fee rebated annually, which effectively makes this a no-fee card for BMO’s premium banking customers.

Supplementary cards are $50 each.*

Earning Rewards

This card earns on the new BMO Blue Rewards points currency, which replaced Air Miles in the summer 2026 rebrand.

The earning structure works as follows:

10 points per $1 spent at participating Blue Rewards Partners*
2 points per $1 on groceries, gas, EV charging, wholesale clubs, and alcohol purchases*
1 point per $1 on everything else*

The 10x category is the headline rate, but realistically, the everyday 2x bucket is where most cardholders will earn the bulk of their points.

You can also stack additional Blue Rewards points by tapping your Blue Rewards Member Card at checkout, on top of the credit card earn.*

Redeeming Rewards

Blue Rewards points redeem at a benchmark of 1,500 points = $10 when used in-store at participating partners or on eGift Cards (about 0.667 cents per point).*

Other redemption options, including travel through the Expedia-powered platform and merchandise, are subject to separate redemption rates that are typically lower.*

There’s no minimum redemption threshold, so you can redeem any amount at any time.

The insurance package on this card includes:

Out-of-province and out-of-country emergency medical insurance up to $5 million per insured person, per trip, for up to 15 consecutive days*
Trip cancellation up to $1,500 per insured person ($5,000 per trip combined)*
Trip interruption and trip delay up to $2,000 per insured person ($10,000 per trip combined)*
Flight delay up to $500 per trip combined (on delays over four hours)*
Baggage delay and lost/stolen baggage up to $500 per person ($1,000 per trip combined)*
Common carrier travel accident up to $500,000 per insured person*
Car rental collision and loss damage insurance (vehicles up to $65,000 MSRP, up to 48 days)*
Purchase Security (90 days) and Extended Warranty (doubles manufacturer warranty up to one extra year)*

Important age restriction. Emergency medical insurance is only available to cardholders age 64 or under. Age 65+ cardholders aren't eligible for emergency medical coverage on this card and will need to arrange separate travel medical insurance.*

Coverage is secondary, which means it pays after your provincial Government Health Insurance Plan and any other private coverage you have.
