Accor Amex Offer: Spend $350, Get $70 on Fairmont & Sofitel Hotels

A new Amex Offer allows eligible cardholders to earn a $70 statement credit on $350 spent at Fairmont or Sofitel properties in Canada this fall and winter.

A new Amex Offer has surfaced that allows you to earn a $70 statement credit by using your American Express cards at Fairmont or Sofitel hotels in Canada until January 31, 2023.

Fairmont & Sofitel Hotels: Spend $350, Get $70

You’ll earn a one-time $70 (CAD) statement credit upon spending $350 (CAD) after taxes at participating Fairmont and Sofitel hotels in Canada via the Accor ALL app or at all.com.

Note that the promotion is limited to Canadian properties. Fairmont has a fairly wide selection nationwide, with properties in every major city and several resorts in between, while Sofitel’s sole Canadian presence is in Montreal.

Despite the offer’s affiliation with the wider Accor hotel portfolio, other Accor brands in Canada, such as Novotel, are unfortunately excluded.

The offer works on cumulative purchases that total $350 or more, so there’s no requirement to meet the $350 minimum in a single purchase.

The offer ends on January 31, 2023, and has a fairly limited registration cap of the first 25,000 cardholders, so it’s best to register as soon as possible to ensure that you’re eligible.

We’ve seen this offer popping up across a wide range of American Express cards. If you’re playing the game in two-player mode or more, be sure to check each individual’s cards to see whether the offer has showed up and register accordingly.

Save 20% on Upcoming Hotel Stays

This offer can be an excellent incentive if you’ve been considering booking a stay at Fairmont or Sofitel hotels this winter. By making a purchase of exactly $350, you’d effectively unlock a 20% discount on your purchase via the $70 statement credit.

Since the statement credit will be applied on the Amex side, you can combine it with other ongoing property-specific deals or money-saving tactics, like Stay Vancouver, Edmonton’s Best Hotels, or the Ontario Staycation Tax Credit. As long as the bill is at least $350, you’ll get the $70 credit.

Note that if you took advantage of any Fairmont gift card sales, which offered an effective 16.67% discount by way of a 20% bonus on gift card purchases, then you could pay for a stay using both your Fairmont gift cards and your credit card with the Accor Amex Offer on it – but not simultaneously.

I’d recommend using the Accor Amex Offer to pay for a $350 chunk of the hotel bill first, since it’s a limited-time deal and represents a higher effective discount of 20%, before using up your Fairmont gift cards which have no expiry date.

Enhancing Your Stay with Accor STEP

To receive elite benefits with your stay without any hotel stays with Accor, keep in mind that you can receive Accor Gold status by signing up for the Ibis Business Card at a cost of €90 per year, or by holding 50 shares of Accor through Accor Shareholders Club.

Accor Gold comes with guaranteed room availability, room upgrades, and early check-in and late check-out subject to availability.

Accor Gold isn’t half bad, but more meaningful benefits such as suite upgrades requires Accor Platinum status, while breakfast is only ever offered on weekends even to top-tier Accor Diamond status holders.

Regardless of your status level, if you wish to further elevate your stay, booking with Prince of Travel through Accor STEP would entitle you to additional benefits for no additional cost.

Scotiabank American Express Cardholders Can Register Too

As we’ve seen on previous Amex Offers, the offer is also available for primary and supplementary cardholders of the Scotiabank American Express products: the Scotiabank Gold American Express, Scotiabank American Express, and Scotiabank Platinum American Express.

The registration portal is accessible via this link.

This gives you yet another avenue to maximizing your savings under this promotion by registering and using the Amex Offer on both your Amex- and Scotiabank-issued Amex products.

If you have a more expensive Fairmont or Sofitel stay lined up, you can register multiple primary and supplementary cardholders for the offer and split the bill to maximize the $70 statement credit.

Conclusion

A new Amex Offer has allows eligible cardholders to earn a $70 statement credit upon spending a minimum of $350 on cumulative purchases at Fairmont or Sofitel properties in Canada this winter.

Not every American Express card is targeted for this offer, so be sure to check all of your cards to see if the promotion pops up. For those with Scotiabank American Express products, be sure to register via the portal link to multiply your savings.

Keep in mind that the registration cap is limited to the first 25,000 cardholders, so it’s best to lock in your eligibility as soon as possible, and then plan your Fairmont or Sofitel stay through January 31, 2023.
