$3
Monthly fee
A non-interest-bearing USD account for Canadians who need to hold and spend U.S. dollars.
The RBC U.S. Personal Banking account carries a monthly fee of $3.00 USD.
Unlike RBC's Canadian-dollar chequing plans, there are no Value Program rebates or waivers on this account, so the fee applies regardless of your other RBC products.
The plan includes 6 debits per month, with each additional debit costing $1.25.
This account is built for Canadians who need to hold and spend U.S. dollars, whether for cross-border shopping, travel, or U.S.-dollar income.
It's a non-interest-bearing account, so balances don't earn anything. RBC offers a separate U.S. High Interest eSavings account at 0.25% for U.S.-dollar savings.
A U.S.-dollar overdraft option is available. Keep in mind that the account doesn't support Interac e-Transfers or PLUS network ATM access, which limits how you can move money out of it.
Deposits are eligible for CDIC coverage.
Terms and conditions apply. The information for the RBC U.S. Personal Banking Account has been collected independently by Prince of Travel and is not provided or reviewed by RBC. Offers, rates, and fees are subject to change — always confirm details on the financial institution's website before applying.
