World of Hyatt Members Can Now Transfer Points Online

World of Hyatt has finally retired its paper form for moving points between members. As of October 15, 2026, you can transfer points to another World of Hyatt member online, for free, in just a few clicks.
Until now, combining points meant downloading a form, having both members sign it, and emailing it to Hyatt. The new process takes a couple of minutes from your own account.
With more Canadians earning Hyatt points through the Aeroplan and World of Hyatt partnership, it’s a welcome change for anyone looking to pool points with a partner or family member.
How the New Transfer Tool Works
The tool lives on Hyatt’s Purchase and Gift Rewards page, under the “Gift Your Points” link. Transfers are processed by Points.com on Hyatt’s behalf, the same company that handles Hyatt’s points purchases.

To send points, you’ll need the recipient’s first name, last name, email address, and World of Hyatt member number. From there, you choose an amount on a slider and confirm the transfer.
When I pulled up the tool in my own account, the summary listed gift processing as free, which matches Hyatt’s terms.

The Rules and Limits
Hyatt’s terms set out a few limits on how often and how much you can move.
- Transfers are 1:1, starting at 1,000 points and in increments of 500 points
- You can move up to 525,000 points in a single transaction
- Each member can send up to 525,000 points and receive up to 525,000 points per calendar year
- You can transfer once per calendar month, up to six transfers per calendar year
- Both accounts must be in good standing and open for at least 60 days
Since those limits reset every calendar year, a large balance doesn’t have to wait. You could send up to 525,000 points before the end of 2026, then move the rest in January 2027, as long as the recipient stays within their own 525,000-point receiving limit each year.
Points generally arrive within 24 hours. Hyatt says transactions that need additional review can take up to 10 business days, so leave yourself some buffer before a booking.
Keep in mind that the tool only moves points you already have. Buying points for another member is a separate option on the same page, capped at 55,000 points per recipient each calendar year.
Free Night Awards, Club Access Awards, and select room upgrades can also be gifted, but those still go through Hyatt’s customer service rather than the new tool.
How It Compares to Marriott Bonvoy
Marriott Bonvoy has offered online points transfers since 2023, but with a much lower ceiling on the sending side.
Marriott members can send up to 100,000 points per calendar year and receive up to 500,000 points. Hyatt’s 525,000-point sending limit is more than five times higher, which makes it far more practical for a household that books most of its stays from one account.
The once-a-month rule is Hyatt’s main constraint, so it’s worth moving everything you need for a booking in a single transfer rather than topping up in pieces.
What This Means for Aeroplan Members
Since the partnership launched in July, Canadians have more ways to build a World of Hyatt balance than ever. You can earn Hyatt points on your stays, and Aeroplan Elite members can convert Aeroplan points to World of Hyatt points at a 2:1 ratio.
Online transfers make it much easier for a couple or a family to pool those points into one account ahead of a booking. That matters most at the top end, where a single Category 7 or 8 night can run tens of thousands of points.
It works in the other direction, too. If a family member has a small Hyatt balance they’ll never use, they can send it to you, and you can convert the combined balance to Aeroplan at 2:1, with a minimum of 5,000 World of Hyatt points.
Points you convert from Aeroplan land in your World of Hyatt balance like any other points. I haven’t tested gifting converted points yet, so if you plan to, I’d start with a small transfer.

Conclusion
This is a long-overdue fix, and the generous limits make it one of the more flexible points-sharing setups among the major hotel programs.
If you and your partner both earn Hyatt points, I’d pick one account to book from and move points over as needed, keeping the once-a-month limit in mind. And if you’ve been putting off a transfer because of the old form, there’s no reason to wait any longer.
