Kenya Airways Now Matches Accor Elites to Top-Tier Status for SkyTeam Elite Plus

Kenya Airways has launched a new paid status match program in partnership with StatusMatch.com, giving travellers a shortcut to SkyTeam Elite or SkyTeam Elite Plus benefits for 12 months.

Whether you hold status with Air Canada, WestJet, another of 40+ airlines, 15+ hotel programs, or even certain premium credit cards, you could qualify for this match and enjoy benefits like lounge access, SkyPriority, and extra baggage on SkyTeam flights around the world.

As of August 2026, there's an even better deal for Accor Live Limitless members, who can now match Gold, Platinum, or Diamond status directly to Asante Rewards Platinum Elite Plus, the highest tier in the program.

Matching Status with Kenya Airways Asante Rewards

The match is processed entirely online, with the fee depending on what type of status you’re matching from and, in the case of airline status, where you live.

From airline status, for residents of Canada, the US, the Americas, and select Asian countries:

• Silver Elite: $99 USD
• Gold Elite Plus or Platinum Elite Plus: $299 USD

From airline status, for residents of all other countries:

• Silver Elite: $80 USD
• Gold Elite Plus or Platinum Elite Plus: $175 USD

From hotel status, for residents of all countries:

• Silver Elite: $99 USD
• Gold Elite Plus: $299 USD
• Platinum Elite Plus: $299 USD (Accor Live Limitless Gold, Platinum, and Diamond members only)

From credit card status, for residents of all countries:

• Silver Elite only: $99 USD

Note that pricing is the lowest when you match from an airline status outside the Americas and Asia. If your address happens to be in the UK, France, or another “rest of world” country, you could pay as little as $80 USD for Silver or $175 USD for Gold/Platinum. We all have relatives in Europe, right?

Also note that residents of Argentina, China, Hong Kong, and Taiwan aren’t eligible to apply.

Kenya Airways accepts matches from airline programs, hotel programs, and premium credit cards.

Your matched Asante Rewards tier depends on your current program and status level. Higher tiers from airlines can get you to Platinum, hotels can take you up to Gold (or all the way to Platinum with Accor elite status), and credit cards up to Silver.

The exception is Accor Live Limitless, whose Gold, Platinum, and Diamond members can now match straight to Asante Rewards Platinum Elite Plus, a privilege that used to require top-tier airline status.

This is arguably the easiest and sweetest path to SkyTeam Elite Plus, since you can get Marriott Bonvoy Gold Elite or Hilton Honors Gold status simply by holding an American Express Platinum Card.

Should You Consider This Match?

If you’re a frequent Kenya Airways flyer, this match might make sense on its own.

For everyone else, the real value likely comes from the SkyTeam Elite perks – lounge access, SkyPriority, and extra baggage – which can easily offset the one-time match fee after just a few trips.

With relatively easy-to-get statuses like Marriott Bonvoy Gold or Hilton Honors Gold, you can unlock SkyTeam Elite Plus without ever stepping on a qualifying flight. If you hold Accor Live Limitless Gold status or higher, you can now go one step further and match straight to the top of the program.

For Canadians, this route is set to become even easier. Once the American Express Platinum Card begins offering complimentary Accor Gold status later this year, announced as part of the new Amex partnership with ALL Accor, Platinum cardholders will have a direct line to the very top of the Asante Rewards program.

If you're eyeing this play, I'd act quickly once the Amex benefit goes live. Should Kenya Airways see a sudden wave of Accor status matches, it wouldn't be surprising to see the Accor path capped at Gold like every other hotel program, or pulled altogether.

You don't necessarily have to wait, either. The Explorer and Signature models of ALL Accor+ both come with Gold status or better the moment you join, so if you'd get value out of SkyTeam Elite Plus in the near future alongside the Accor membership benefits, subscribing now gets you there without holding out for the Amex rollout.

Plus, you never know when this status could open the door to other match opportunities in the future.

For example, I matched my Marriott Bonvoy status to Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer Gold earlier this year, and now I can use that status to match into Asante Rewards Gold, unlocking SkyTeam Elite Plus benefits for only $175 USD, without taking a single Kenya Airways flight.
