What we loved: The beautifully renovated design throughout the property, exceptional service from arrival to departure, and an expansive breakfast buffet that ranks among the best I've experienced at any hotel.
What we didn't love: The location is a bit far from the nearest MRT station. The Astor King room also lacked a Dyson hairdryer and heated toilet seat, amenities available in the suites that would've been easy wins for the base room category.
How to book: This property participates in the Marriott Bonvoy program, with the Astor King Room pricing around 65,000 points per night or roughly $475 SGD ($509 CAD) on a standard rate.
Singapore is one of those destinations that always delivers, whether you're visiting for the first time or the fifth.
After flying through Singapore last year without leaving the airport, I knew I needed to spend some proper time in the city. When I learned that The St. Regis Singapore had just completed a major renovation in late 2025, it was the perfect excuse to book a stay and see the results for myself.
I booked two nights in February 2026, checking in as a Platinum Elite member. The property promised a complete design overhaul, and it delivered in ways I wasn't expecting.
About the Property
The St. Regis Singapore opened in 2008 as the first St. Regis hotel in Southeast Asia, bringing the brand's signature butler service and old-world glamour to Orchard Road.
In late 2025, the hotel completed a top-to-bottom renovation. Rather than hand the redesign to a new firm, it brought back its original designers, a choice that kept the property's established character intact while bringing every finish up to date.
The St. Regis hallmarks are woven throughout. A carefully curated art collection lines the public spaces, including original Picasso works, and the nightly champagne sabering ceremony on the grand staircase keeps one of the brand's oldest rituals alive.
Location
The St. Regis Singapore sits in the Orchard Road area, one of the city's premier shopping and dining districts. You're within walking distance of major malls and plenty of restaurants, which makes it convenient for daytime excursions.
The one drawback is that the hotel is a bit far from the nearest MRT (subway) station. If you're arriving with luggage, I'd recommend taking a taxi or Grab rather than trying to navigate the walk.
Once settled, however, taxis and ride-hailing are cheap and plentiful in Singapore, so getting around the city is never an issue.

Booking
Marriott Bonvoy moved to dynamic pricing in 2023, so the points cost for The St. Regis Singapore fluctuates based on demand and dates.
For my two-night stay in February 2026, the Astor King Room was pricing around 65,000 points per night, with cash rates hovering around $475 SGD ($509 CAD) per night.
For Canadians looking to earn Bonvoy points, the Marriott Bonvoy American Express Card earns directly into the program, while Amex Membership Rewards points transfer to Bonvoy at a 5:6 ratio.
The Amex Platinum Card also grants automatic Gold Elite status, though Platinum Elite, where the real benefits kick in, requires 50 qualifying nights.
As a St. Regis property, this hotel participates in Marriott STARS, a preferred partner program.
The St. Regis Singapore also runs periodic promotional rates. At the time of writing, a Length of Stay offer takes 20% off bookings of three nights or more, so it's worth checking what's available for your dates before booking.

Arrival & Check-In
First impressions were excellent. The valet staff greeted me warmly upon arrival, and I stepped into a lobby that was beautifully decorated for Lunar New Year. The festive touches added a lovely focal point to what's already a grand entrance.

The check-in area sits to the left of the lobby, furnished with desks and comfortable chairs so guests can sit down during the process, a thoughtful touch after a long flight.
Across the lobby, a second seating area showcased part of the hotel's striking art collection, leading to a grand staircase where the traditional St. Regis nightly champagne sabering ceremony takes place.
Off the main lobby, I spotted several outlets: a charming tea room, a grab-and-go patisserie, and Sophia, the hotel's recently renovated Italian restaurant that also serves as the breakfast venue. The overall feeling was one of refined elegance without being stuffy.
Astor King Room
The 2025 renovation gave every room at The St. Regis Singapore a complete makeover, and my Astor King felt fresh and luxurious from the moment I walked in. Interestingly, the hotel brought back the same original designers for the refresh, a decision that clearly paid off.

Immediately upon entering, the grand bathroom opened to the left while a sleek bar area sat on the right. The bar featured hot and ambient water on demand, a Keurig coffee maker, and a fully stocked minibar.

If I needed anything, whether that was hot coffee delivered to the room, help unpacking and packing luggage, or garment pressing, the St. Regis Butler service was just a short phone call away.
The bedroom itself was spacious and thoughtfully designed, with soft colours and elegant textures throughout. The wallpaper drew inspiration from the nearby Singapore Botanic Gardens, lending the room a sophisticated feel tied to the local surroundings.
My welcome amenity was generous: a massive bowl of fresh fruit, a collection of pastries, and bottles of both still and sparkling water.

There was no shortage of places to relax, either, with an armchair, sofa, and desk chair providing plenty of seating options.
The property has 299 rooms in total, including 64 double queen rooms and 16 triple connecting rooms. Those connecting configurations make The St. Regis Singapore a surprisingly strong option for families or groups travelling together.
Bathroom
The bathroom was a definite highlight, anchored by an expansive bathtub in the centre of the room. A separate shower area with jets and an enclosed toilet add to the functionality, while his-and-hers sinks with amenities on both sides make it feel especially luxurious.

Water pressure was excellent and the lighting was fantastic, bright enough for getting ready, but dimmable for a relaxing soak. It was, quite honestly, the bathroom of my dreams.
My only minor disappointment was that my room didn't include a Dyson hairdryer or a heated toilet seat, both of which are available in the suites and in the comparably priced JW Marriott Singapore South Beach.
These are small touches that would go a long way in the base room category. I think the hotel is missing an easy opportunity here, as it wouldn't take much to elevate the Astor King experience to match the suites on these details.
Premier Specialty Suite
I had the opportunity to tour several room types during my stay, and the Premier Specialty Suite was the most impressive hotel room I've ever seen.
The suite features private balconies, a dedicated living room with a separate dining area, a full desk, and a walk-in closet. The bedroom is completely separate from the living spaces, anchored by a king bed.
A large master bathroom with a powder room rounds out the layout. The chandeliers and artful crown mouldings, combined with the refreshed upholstery and furniture, made this suite absolutely exquisite.

If you're celebrating a special occasion and have the points to spare, or approximately $4,000 SGD per night to invest, this is the room to book.
Dining
Dining at The St. Regis Singapore was one of the most memorable parts of my stay, with multiple outlets that each brought something distinct to the table.
Marriott Bonvoy members are entitled to 20% savings at Yan Ting, The Tea Room, Sophia, and The St. Regis Bar. Two other restaurants on-site, Shinji and Tentsuru, are not operated by the hotel and do not participate in the Marriott Bonvoy program. Reservations must be made separately.
Sophia
I had lunch at the newly renovated Sophia, the hotel's Italian restaurant that doubles as the breakfast venue. The setting was beautiful, with a romantic ambience and thoughtful design details throughout. Large windows and tall ceilings show off the lush gardens outside.
I tried the burrata and rigatoni, while my dining companions ordered octopus, steak, and grilled white fish à la carte. Every dish was beautifully presented and delicious.

Sophia clearly isn't just a hotel restaurant going through the motions. It's a destination-worthy dining experience.
Breakfast
The breakfast buffet, also held at Sophia, was one of the best and most comprehensive hotel breakfasts I've ever experienced. The spread was enormous, covering both Asian and Western options with impressive depth in each category.

On my second morning, the chef was personally circulating among the tables, greeting diners and asking for feedback. When he asked if there was anything I thought they were missing, I enthusiastically told him no. There were items on that breakfast spread I wouldn't have even thought to include, and everything was fantastic.
Yan Ting
While I didn't eat at Yan Ting, the hotel's Cantonese restaurant, I did have the chance to walk through. The attention to detail in the table settings was impressive, with thoughtful touches that reflected care for the dining experience.

The St. Regis Bar
The bar quickly became one of my favourite spots in the hotel. Open daily from 5pm, it was decorated meticulously, featuring a collection of original Picasso paintings on the walls, a fitting centrepiece for a St. Regis property.

The cocktail menu was creative and unlike anything I'd seen before, including a cheeseburger-flavoured cocktail that raised eyebrows at our table.
I tried a Bloody Mary at my host's recommendation, as well as a "Merlion Sling," their take on the famous Singapore Sling. Both were excellent.

Other Facilities
The St. Regis Singapore offers a solid set of facilities, all of which benefited from the 2025 renovation.
Pool
The pool area offered a welcome sanctuary from Singapore's intense tropical heat. While it lacks the dramatic views of Marina Bay Sands or the JW Marriott South Beach, the setting was tranquil and well-maintained, a great way to cool off between outings.

Gym
The gym received a major upgrade during the renovation, with all-new equipment throughout. Whether you're looking for cardio machines or free weights, the fitness centre has everything you'd need to maintain your routine while travelling.

Spa
The spa featured multiple treatment rooms and looked like a lovely way to spend a few hours relaxing. I didn't book a treatment during my stay, but the space itself was inviting and well-appointed.

Marriott Bonvoy members are eligible for 10% savings on spa treatments.
Amenities for Children
In addition to the highly configurable suites that accommodate families and groups, The St. Regis Singapore has added some thoughtful touches for younger guests. Children under 12 stay free and can access the breakfast buffet for just $29 SGD.

Rollaway beds are available for a nominal fee.
A children's library is tucked into the business centre with books in multiple languages. The hotel also offers a particularly memorable touch, setting up galaxy lights in your room for a small charge.
It's a simple detail, but it shows how much thought they've put into making stays special for families.
Other Perks and Programs
As someone who doesn't know much about art but recognizes quality when I see it, the hotel's collection is clearly well curated. An art tour is available upon request and would be an excellent way for art enthusiasts to spend a rainy afternoon.
A few days after my departure, the hotel was launching a new cocktail-making class where guests can learn to make four cocktails for $88 SGD, exceptional value considering individual cocktails at The St. Regis Bar run $20 to $30 SGD each.
My hosts explained how eager they are to offer unique programming for guests, and their enthusiasm was evident.
For guests with a vehicle, complimentary parking is available.
Conclusion
The St. Regis Singapore has been thoroughly revitalized by its 2025 renovation. The design is stunning, the service is warm and attentive, and the dining, particularly the breakfast buffet, is outstanding.
The location, while slightly inconvenient for MRT access, is well-positioned on Orchard Road and easily navigated by taxi.
This property is an excellent choice for couples seeking a romantic getaway and for families who can take advantage of those connecting room configurations. Whether you're booking on points or paying cash, The St. Regis Singapore delivers a luxury experience that justifies its place among Marriott's top-tier portfolio.
I'd happily return on a future trip to Singapore. Next time, perhaps I'll splurge on that Premier Specialty Suite.
