What we loved: This refined property offers a retreat from the medina’s vibrant energy. Expansive accommodations feature lavish touches, from soaring ceilings to premium Aquamoon rainfall showers. While the delectable cuisine and elegant lounges impress, it’s the expansive pool and spa sanctuary that steals the show.

What we didn’t love: The property is located 15-20 minutes away by car from the Medina of Marrakech, which is a slight inconvenience for those who wish to explore the city’s main attractions.

How to book on points: This hotel is part of Hyatt’s World of Hyatt program as a Category 7 property. A standard room redemption costs 30,000 points per night (25,000 points off-peak and up to 35,000 points peak).

Park Hyatt Marrakech – About The Property

Nestled within the modern Al Maaden residential complex amongst luxury villas and a golf resort, the Park Hyatt Marrakech made its debut in July 2024, featuring 131 luxurious non-smoking rooms and suites for guests.

Location

The hotel is located 15-20 minutes by car from Marrakech’s famous medina and 25 minutes by car from Marrakesh Menara Airport.

Taxi services and private car transfers are the most convenient transportation options. If you opt to drive, parking is complimentary at the hotel and several electric vehicle charging stations are available onsite.

Booking

We visited in the fall, at the end of our weeklong tour of Morocco. A standard king room was available for 35,000 Hyatt points per night or 7,500 MAD (over $1,000 CAD). We opted to redeem Hyatt points for our stay.

At Prince of Travel, we generally value Hyatt points at 2 cents/point (CAD) or 1.5 cents/point (USD), so we were getting a great value for my points.

I charged incidentals for my stay on to my Chase World of Hyatt credit card to earn 4 Hyatt points per US dollar spent

For Canadian travelers without US credit cards, both the American Express® Gold Rewards Card and the Platinum Card® earn 2 Membership Reward points per Canadian dollar spent on travel. Alternatively, consider using a credit card without foreign transaction fees like the Scotiabank Passport® Visa Infinite* Card or the Scotiabank Gold American Express® Card

If you’re interested in getting a US credit card to open up new Miles & Points opportunities, check out our in-depth guide about getting US credit cards for Canadians to learn more.

The Park Hyatt Marrakech participates in Hyatt Privé, a preferred partner program that you can access through our in-house travel agency, Prince Collection.

By booking through us, you’ll pay exactly what you’d otherwise pay (and sometimes even less), plus you’ll get access to exclusive benefits, such as a $100 (USD) property credit, complimentary breakfast for two in the hotel’s restaurant, one-category room upgrade, early check-in, and late check-out (subject to availability), plus a welcome gift and letter.

Park Hyatt Marrakech – The Check-in Experience

Coming from the medina, the drive was pleasant. A security guard greeted us at the gated entrance. Upon arrival, the Park Hyatt Marrakech’s imposing marble facade set a magnificent first impression that hinted at the luxury to come.

Walking through the lobby felt like entering a grand palace. The design was modern, yet infused with a Moroccan color palette of rich browns and deep reds set against alabaster-colored walls. Soaring ceilings and marble mosaic floors added to the sense of grandeur and elegance.

Comfortable seating areas lined the sides, and the rich wooden accents paired with the soft velvet upholstery added a warm, inviting touch to the vast space.

Park Hyatt Marrakech – Check-In

The renowned Moroccan hospitality was evident upon our arrival. Staff warmly welcomed us to a comfortable seating area where we were served mango iced tea, and almond cookies while they completed our check-in formalities.

As a Globalist member, I received the following elite perks:

  • Upgrade: The hotel proactively upgraded us to a Park Suite with a king bed at check-in.
  • Welcome gift: We were provided a generous welcome gift of wine, cookies, and sweets in our suite.
  • Late check-out: While I requested a late check-out, the hotel could only extend our departure until 1pm, one hour past the standard noon check-out time, due to an incoming conference group.
  • Breakfast: The breakfast benefit included a continental buffet with à la carte main courses.

After check-in, a staff member escorted us to our room while providing an orientation of the property along the way.

Reminiscent of Morocco’s Red City, the Park Hyatt Marakech features warm red and earthen-toned architecture. Rooms and suites are arranged into residential complexes connected by a network of paths and gardens, creating a harmonious village-like setting.

Park Hyatt Marrakech – Park Suite King

I absolutely loved the Park Suite. It was spacious, bright, and felt warm, yet elegant. The grandeur of the lobby extended seamlessly into the suite interiors, creating a cohesive experience.

The king-size bed delivered exceptional comfort and was thoughtfully designed with an ergonomic leather headboard that provided perfect neck support for lounging. Paired with the sprawling 65-inch Smart TV mounted on the opposite wall, our suite became our own private theatre.

There was also a small dinette set, where our welcome amenity was awaiting us.

The complimentary minibar was a pleasant surprise. Replenished once daily with water, juice, carbonated beverages, chocolate, and cookies, it reflects the property’s generous hospitality.

Situated at ground level, our suite opened onto a private terrace where comfy teak furnishings invite you to unwind while overlooking the resort. Curtains could be drawn to provide extra privacy.

The luxurious bathroom rivaled a private spa. Large teak wardrobes, a dedicated vanity area, and separate toileting room were nice features. High-end amenities like Le Labo toiletries and a Dyson Supersonic hair dryer were provided as well.

The most distinctive feature of the bathroom, however, was the expansive marble shower outfitted with an AquaMoon system which offered a rainfall-inspired bathing experience. While novel and relaxing, I found the experience to be a bit overrated.

We did have a chance to take a peek at their standard room, which although shares the same design and decorative themes, was quite a bit smaller in size.

Park Hyatt Marrakech – Food and Drink

Breakfast was served at TFAYA, the resort’s Moroccan-inspired restaurant. The venue has a refined yet comfortable ambiance.

A continental breakfast buffet offered a variety of breads, pastries, fruits, wellness juices, and parfaits.

To supplement the buffet, you can choose made-to-order hot dishes from the á la carte menu.

While there are traditional breakfast items like omelettes and benedicts, I enjoyed the Moroccan egg tagine with beef confit.

We found ourselves drawn back for dinner, and it was worth the return visit. A live musician sets the perfect mood each evening as you dine. The Samak har-style sea bass fillet with clams was a standout, though their meat dishes also hit the mark.

At all times, staff were attentive to our needs and most helpful in navigating us through the Arabic menu.

In addition to TFAYA, the resort features two other restaurants that offer both food and bar service: Pavillon, which overlooks the pool and serves Asian and Mediterranean dishes for lunch and dinner; and the Living Room, which opens for afternoon tea and evening tapas and drinks.

The mixologist at the Living Room, Zouhir, was absolutely fabulous, and even treated us to a tasting of their local wine. His cocktails were also beautifully curated.

For those perfect pool days when you don’t want to budge from your lounger, you can order from the poolside menu. A highlight for me was the refreshing spider crab with roasted avocado and yuzu dressing, while my husband enjoyed his beef tartare, both of which arrived looking like works of art.

Park Hyatt Marrakech – Poolside dining

If you’re looking for dining options outside the property, you’ll have to venture a little further out, as most of the surrounding area is still under development.

Park Hyatt Marrakech – Other Facilities

If you love pools, you’re in for a treat. The hotel’s sprawling pool and spa complex is seriously impressive, featuring four different pools: two peaceful adult-only options outdoors, a family pool where the kids can splash around, and an indoor pool for year-round swimming.

The pool staff took excellent care of us, starting with a refreshing lemon-ginger welcome drink the moment we arrived. With loungers scattered all around, you’ll always find the perfect spot to relax.

Keep an eye out for the Atlas Mountains peeking through on clear days, adding a touch of awe to your poolside retreat.

Le Spa Park Hyatt offers a luxurious tranquil sanctuary. The spa has comfy seating and private cabanas and loungers spread throughout its facility. The jacuzzi, hammam steam room, and sauna are complementary to use. Traditional and hammam spa treatments are offered for a fee.

Beneath a glowing ceiling, the warm indoor pool provided a peaceful retreat.

The gym is equipped with weight and cardio equipment designed by Technogym, and is open 24/7 for personal use. Studio rooms are also available for yoga, pilates, and other activities. Various wellness and fitness classes are offered throughout the week for a fee (most one-hour sessions cost 500 MAD).

A complimentary kids club is available daily from 10am to 6pm for those aged 4 to 12 and offers various fun, supervised activities for kids to partake in. Babysitting can be arranged for a fee outside these hours or for younger children.

Just outside the resort, you can find the 18-hole Al Maaden Golf Course. A jogging trail encircles the course for those looking to burn some extra calories.

Conclusion

Though situated away from Marrakech’s bustling center, the Park Hyatt offered the perfect serene finale to our whirlwind tour of Morocco. It is a luxurious oasis that combines attentive service, delectable dining, stylish lounges, and a sprawling spa complex.

I particularly appreciated its thoughtful architecture which seamlessly blends contemporary design with traditional Moroccan elements, helping to curate a culturally immersive experience.
