Reading your review made me reminisce the former fifth freedom CX route, JFK-YVR. My favorite way to return home from the EU.
You Vancouverites must have really enjoyed that one over the years. May it rest in peace.
Is there any way to visit both the Cathay First-Class Lounges in HKG, and the American Airlines Flagship First Dining on a single one-way First class ticket on Cathay with Alaska miles?
I’m guessing this isn’t possible, so my next question is: Would you rather visit The Wing or the Pier in HKG, or the AA Flagship First Dining experience at JFK?
Yes it is! You just need to fly JFK–HKG–somewhere else with the first flight in Cathay First. You’ll get access to the Wing and the Pier in Hong Kong on account of your inbound First Class flight, even if your onward flight is in business class.
To answer your other question, I’d still much prefer the Wing and the Pier over AA Flagship First Dining.
Just to clarify: I meant for example, if you went HKG->JFK->DFW (in AA first)->YEG/YVR (in Alaska). I know you mentioned select domestic flights departing from JFK.
