Air Canada Will Fly Non-Stop from Montréal to Seville on the A321XLR

Air Canada is adding another Spanish city to its map. From September 8, 2027, it will fly non-stop from Montréal (YUL) to Seville (SVQ) up to four times a week on the Airbus A321XLR, and tickets are already on sale.
It'll be the only non-stop flight between Seville and North America, and Air Canada's fifth destination in Spain. It's also the latest in a run of secondary European cities that the A321XLR is opening up from Canada.
The route itself is simple, so let me cover the schedule, what Aeroplan members can expect, and how it fits into Air Canada's recent expansion.
The Montréal to Seville Schedule
The route runs three times a week from September 8, 2027, stepping up to four times a week from October 1. It takes a winter break between early January and mid-February, then resumes until early June 2028.
| Flight | Route | Departs | Arrives | Season |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| AC958 | Montréal (YUL) to Seville (SVQ) | 20:30 | 09:30 next day | Sept 8, 2027 to Jan 8, 2028, and Feb 18 to June 3, 2028 |
| AC959 | Seville (SVQ) to Montréal (YUL) | 12:45 | 14:40 | Sept 9, 2027 to Jan 9, 2028, and Feb 19 to June 4, 2028 |
Air Canada hasn't published the exact days of the week yet, and the schedule is subject to change. The overnight departure from Montréal lands in Seville mid-morning, while the return leaves at lunchtime and arrives back in Montréal mid-afternoon.

Since the flight leaves Montréal in the evening, connections from across Canada should work well. Montréal also has US customs preclearance for anyone continuing to the United States on the way home.
Another Route for the A321XLR
The flight will operate on the Airbus A321XLR with Air Canada's new interiors, with 14 Signature Class lie-flat seats and 168 seats in economy.

Seville is a good example of what the A321XLR was built for. It's a city that wouldn't fill a widebody from Canada, but a narrowbody with the range to cross the Atlantic makes a non-stop worth running.
It joins Palma de Mallorca (PMI) and Tenerife (TFS), which Air Canada added from Montréal over the past year, and Montréal's Summer 2027 additions to Basel (BSL) and Dubrovnik (DBV). Air Canada says it's now the largest airline by seats between Canada and Spain.

What Aeroplan Members Can Expect
At about 3,450 miles, Montréal to Seville falls in the Aeroplan chart's lowest band between North America and Europe. Air Canada flight rewards in that band start at 32,500 points in economy and 60,000 points in business class one way, though dynamic pricing often puts Air Canada flights above those starting prices.
With only 14 Signature Class seats on each flight, business class award space is likely to be tight, especially in September and October. I'd set an alert early rather than wait for availability to open up closer to the date.
If you hold a Canadian Aeroplan credit card, the 15% discount on Air Canada flight rewards applies to this route as well, since both directions are operated entirely by Air Canada. The discount becomes a permanent card benefit on January 12, 2027.
Seville as a Gateway to Andalusia
Seville is the capital of Andalusia, and its airport puts much of southern Spain within easy reach. Córdoba is under an hour away by high-speed train, while Granada, Cádiz, and the Costa del Sol all work as day trips or short road trips.
Until now, getting there from Canada meant connecting through Madrid, Barcelona, or another European hub. A non-stop from Montréal makes a southern Spain trip much simpler, especially in the spring and fall shoulder seasons that the schedule covers.
Conclusion
Air Canada keeps using the A321XLR to reach European cities that never had a non-stop from Canada, and Seville is one of the more appealing additions so far. For anyone in eastern Canada, it turns Andalusia into a single overnight flight.
If I were planning a fall 2027 trip to southern Spain, I'd book with Aeroplan points as soon as space appears, and I'd expect more secondary cities to follow as the A321XLR fleet grows.
