Scene+ Travel: Earn Double Scene+ Points on Hotel Stays

Scene+ is making travel a little more rewarding this fall. For a limited time, you can earn 6 Scene+ points per dollar on hotels booked through Scene+ Travel, powered by Expedia, double the portal’s usual 3 points per dollar.
Simply book between now and November 3, 2026, and complete your stay by May 31, 2027. The points are earned on the full cost of the booking, including taxes and fees, and your credit card’s own earn rate comes on top.
What Is Scene+ Travel?
Scene+ Travel is Scene+’s booking portal (powered by Expedia) where members can earn 3 Scene+ points per dollar on hotels, car rentals, and things to do.
It’s functionally the same platform as the regular Expedia, except you log in through the Scene+ portal first to enable you to earn and redeem points.

That said, Scene+ points are flexible enough that many travellers will be better off booking flights, hotels, and other travel directly with the provider and then redeeming points against those purchases within the 12-month window.
When plans change, dealing with the airline or hotel directly is almost always faster and cleaner than troubleshooting via an intermediary.
Elite status is another key consideration. Stays booked through third-party OTAs generally don’t earn hotel points or elite-night credit, and elite perks such as Marriott Platinum Elite breakfast, room upgrades, and late checkout typically won’t apply.

How Does the Scene+ Hotel Promotion Work?
To be eligible for the promotion, simply book a hotel through Scene+ Travel, powered by Expedia, and you’ll earn 6 Scene+ points per dollar instead of the usual 3. There’s no registration, and the terms don’t set a cap.

You must book between October 6 and November 3, 2026, and complete your stay by May 31, 2027. Points are earned on the total booking value whatever you pay with, so they still count if you pay with Scene+ points.
The promotion is advertised for hotels, so car rentals and “things to do” should still earn the regular 3 points per dollar. You can earn more on any booking when you pay with an eligible Scotiabank credit card.
Keep in mind that cancelled bookings don’t earn, changes made outside the booking window or that push your stay past May 31, 2027 don’t qualify, and some hotels may require a minimum stay. Points typically post within up to eight weeks after your stay is completed.
Which Credit Card Should You Use to Book?
To maximize earning, use a card with a strong travel multiplier and stack it with the Scene+ Travel portal earn.
The Scotiabank Passport® Visa Infinite Privilege* Card earns 3 Scene+ points per dollar on travel. Combined with the promotional 6x from Scene+ Travel, you’re effectively at 9x Scene+ on the charge.
At a slightly lower rate, the Scotiabank Passport® Visa Infinite +* Card and the Scotiabank Gold American Express® Card earn 1 Scene+ point per dollar on generic travel, on top of the portal’s 6x.

Is This Promotion a Good Deal?
The short answer is yes, if the price you see on Scene+ Travel is close to booking direct and you aren’t giving up elite perks.
We value Scene+ points at 1 cent per point, so the extra 3 points per dollar from the promotion works out to an additional 3% back. Add the regular 3x from the portal and you’re at 6% back before your credit card’s earn.
For the $600 stay example above, you’d get back 5,400 Scene+ points, valued at $54, with the Scotiabank Passport® Visa Infinite Privilege* Card. That’s about 9% in return.
Last year’s version paid a flat 5,000 bonus points on stays of two nights or more instead. The extra 3 points per dollar only beats that once you spend about $1,667, so this year’s offer favours bigger bookings, while a short, inexpensive stay earned more last year.
When it shines: boutique/independent hotels where status isn’t in play, longer or pricier stays where the per-dollar bonus adds up, peak dates when member-only rates aren’t meaningfully better, and scenarios where the Scene+ total is within a few dollars of booking direct.
When to skip: brand hotels where you care about elite benefits or elite-night credit, rates that are cheaper direct after member discounts or corporate codes, or plans that might change after November 3 (since modifying outside the window can void the bonus).
Conclusion
Scene+ Travel is doubling its hotel earn to 6 Scene+ points per dollar for a limited time. Make your booking by November 3, 2026, and complete your stay by May 31, 2027.
Paired with a Scotiabank card that earns on travel, it’s a simple way to boost returns when pricing is in line with booking direct. Just keep plans steady and hold onto confirmations until the points post.
