Earn Bonus Aeroplan Points and a Shot at 100,000 with Starbucks Sip-Tember

Starbucks and Aeroplan have brought back the Sip-Tember to Remember contest for September 2026, and the shape is familiar. Complete a small task each week with a linked Starbucks Rewards and Aeroplan account, collect a few bonus Aeroplan points along the way, and earn entries into a draw for 100,000 Aeroplan points.
The points on offer are modest, topping out at 220 Aeroplan points if you do everything, plus a handful of bonus Stars. This isn't a promotion to reorganize your month around. It is worth two minutes to link your accounts if you haven't already, since the entries cost nothing beyond coffee you were probably buying anyway.
The contest runs from September 1 to 28, 2026, and the draw takes place on October 20.
How the Sip-Tember to Remember Contest Works
You need a Starbucks Rewards account linked to your Aeroplan account before any of this counts. Linking is free through the Starbucks account-linking page, and if you're new to Starbucks Rewards, you'll also earn 500 Aeroplan points after your first purchase within seven days of joining.

Once linked, each week has one required action. Pay with your digital Starbucks Card or a payment method saved in the Starbucks app, or scan the app at the register before checkout, at any participating Starbucks in Canada. Each completed action drops a small award into your Aeroplan or Starbucks account and gives you one entry into the draw.
| Week | Dates | What to do | Award | Limit |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | September 1 to 7 | Buy a handcrafted cold coffee (ready-to-drink bottles don't count) | 15 Aeroplan points and 1 entry | Twice, for 30 points and 2 entries |
| 2 | September 8 to 14 | Buy a handcrafted beverage and a bakery item in the same transaction | 20 Aeroplan points and 1 entry | Twice, for 40 points and 2 entries |
| 3 | September 15 to 21 | Spend $12 (CAD) or more before tax in a single transaction after noon local time | 25 Aeroplan points and 1 entry | Twice, for 50 points and 2 entries |
| 4 | September 22 to 28 | Convert at least 400 Aeroplan points to Starbucks Stars in a single conversion | 25% bonus Stars and 1 entry | Once, up to 250 bonus Stars |
Complete all four actions at least once and Starbucks adds a 100-point multi-week bonus, which can be earned once per member. Add it up and the ceiling is 220 Aeroplan points, up to 250 bonus Stars, and seven entries into the draw.

Awards post about eight weeks after each action, so don't expect to see anything in your Aeroplan account before November.
Anyone who prefers not to take part can opt out at siptember.starbucks.ca/optout, and there's a mail-in route to earn the maximum entries for a given week without buying anything. The full details are in the official rules.
Is This Promotion Worth It?
At our valuation of 2.0 cents (CAD) per Aeroplan point, the full 220 points is worth about $4.40 (CAD). That's a free drink over a month, not a windfall, and it only makes sense on purchases you'd make regardless.
Week 3 is the one to watch. The trigger is a $12 (CAD) pre-tax transaction after noon, which is easy to hit on an afternoon order for two, and it pays the largest weekly award. Last year's version of this week asked for $15 at any time of day, so the bar has come down.
Week 4 deserves a moment of thought before you click convert. Aeroplan points turn into Stars starting at 400 points for 100 Stars, and 100 Stars buys a brewed coffee or a bakery item. That's a poor use of Aeroplan points on its own, since 400 points put toward a flight are worth around $8 (CAD) by our math. The 25% bonus softens it but doesn't fix it. If you want the entry and the 100-point multi-week bonus, convert the 400-point minimum and stop there.

The draw is the real prize. One winner takes 100,000 Aeroplan points, which Starbucks values at $3,750 (CAD), and we'd put closer to $2,000 (CAD) in everyday redemptions or a good deal more in a premium cabin. Seven entries is the most any one member can hold, so the odds come down to how many people play along.
Conclusion
If your Starbucks Rewards and Aeroplan accounts are already linked, the only decision is whether to nudge your usual orders toward each week's task. A cold coffee this week, a pastry with your drink next week, an afternoon order over $12 (CAD) the week after, and a 400-point conversion at the end covers everything for 220 points and seven shots at the big prize.
If they aren't linked, do that first. The 500-point welcome bonus for new Starbucks Rewards members is worth more than the whole contest, and the link keeps paying on Starbucks offers long after September is over.
