Video: Summer 2021 Credit Card Strategy

It’s a red-hot summer of credit card offers from American Express, TD, and CIBC. We’ve dissected each offer, compared and contrasted them, and now, let’s sit down for a strategy session.

What’s the best strategy for your spending capacity and travel style? Which offers are so good that they absolutely must take priority – and which ones can take a backseat for now?

With less than two weeks to go until some of these offers expire on August 3, let’s nail down a strategy for you to rack up the points this summer ahead of your plans for revenge travel.

Without further ado, you can watch the video below:

Hi Ricky, I have a AMEX Business Plat, in 2nd year already. thinking about signing up for another AMEX card to take advantage of the sign up bonuses. which card should I get and will there be a referral link?

Don’t forget, if you already have the AP Reserve (and its sign up bonus) and are looking for the one level status jump by spending 10K, the AP Business Reserve has the same upgrade potential for the same $10k spend but you would also receive the 70K welcome bonus if you are going to spending 10K anyways.

Thank you for this video, Ricky. Very clear and informative. With all the opportunities offered on these credit cards, may I suggest a video or an article on how to manage credit score. I remember reading an article you wrote a few years ago, but I have not been able to find it.

        Great! Thanks.

Can you get the AP Reserve, Plat, and Cobalt all before Aug 3? I’m thinking it might not work due to Amex’s policy of 2 cards per 90 days.

The 2/90 rule is only enforced in the US, as I understand it.
