Hot on the heels of the Shop Small and a $30 grocery credit Amex Offers that have both emerged this week, American Express has now also put out their best statement credit offer yet for Lululemon purchases, exclusively on the American Express Platinum Card.
In addition, there are also a few different Lululemon offers floating around on other Amex cards, so let’s take a closer look at all the possibilities.
Amex Platinum Card: Spend $50, Get $50 Twice with Lululemon
From now until June 30, 2023, American Express Platinum Card members may register their card and then earn a $50 statement credit upon spending $50 with Lululemon, up to two times in total, for a total of up to $100 in statement credits.
The offer is valid at all Lululemon locations in Canada, via the Lululemon mobile app, and the Lululemon website. Upon spending $50, you’ll receive the full amount back in the way of a statement credit, meaning there is zero out-of-pocket spending required to take advantage.
The first $50 purchase must be completed by December 31, 2022, and the second $50 purchase must be completed between January 1 and June 30, 2023. For each purchase, you’ll receive a $50 statement credit, up to two credits totalling $100.
This specific offer appears to limited to American Express Platinum Card members, with no option for other cardholders to manually register.
Note that cumulative Lululemon purchases will count towards the offer, so even if your items ship separately and are therefore charged separately, it shouldn’t be an issue.
And if you’ve got multiple Platinum Cards in your household, then you should be able to ask the Lululemon cashier to split your purchase into chunks of $50+ to maximize the credit on each card.
The terms and conditions of the offer do specify that the credits will be applied to your account “within 90 days after 30/06/2023”. However, in practice, they should show up within a few business days of completing your purchase.
Other Lululemon Amex Offers
In addition, few different Lululemon offers have appeared over the past few months, although they aren’t quite as lucrative as the Platinum Card’s new offer listed above.
Nevertheless, if you hold at least one American Express card, you should be able to get some discount on Lululemon purchases in the next few months.
Spend $125, Get $25 with Lululemon
This offer has been witnessed on a wide range of American Express personal and business credit cards.
Upon spending $125 in one or more purchases on either the Lululemon mobile app or the Lululemon website, you can earn a one-time $25 statement credit – equivalent to a 20% discount.
This offer expires August 31, 2022, and does have a registration cap of 40,000 cardholders, so be sure to register if you wish to take advantage.
Spend $150, Get $15 with Lululemon
This represents the least rewarding version of the Lululemon Amex Offers, but is nonetheless a good way to recoup some costs if you’re shopping there anyway.
Upon spending $150 in one or more purchases on either the mobile app or the Lululemon website, you can earn a one-time $15 statement credit – equivalent to a 10% discount.
This offer expires August 31, 2022, with a registration cap of 20,000 cardholders.
It’s also worth noting that unlike many other Amex Offers we’ve seen recently, none of these Lululemon offers can be manually registered using Scotiabank-issued Amex cards.
Do Lululemon Gift Cards Count?
The usual rules of buying gift cards apply: in theory, no, but in practice, maybe.
The terms and conditions of the offer state the following:
Valid only on purchases made or shipped within Canada and paid for in CAD. Excludes outlet locations, B2B and strategic sales, orders made by phone, and gift card purchases. lululemon Like New and purchases of The Mirror are also excluded.
In practice, however, a $50 gift card purchase at a Lululemon store should work just as well as a regular purchase, since the charge shows up as Lululemon either way. Lululemon also sells gift cards online, and it does appear to be charged the same as a regular online purchase.
Conclusion
American Express has put out one of their best Amex Offers for a long time: “Spend $50, Get $50 Twice” for a total of $100 in free Lululemon gear.
The first $50 statement credit will apply on any Lululemon purchase between now and December 31, 2022, while the second $50 statement credit will apply on a purchase between January 1 and June 30, 2023.
The offer should show up on all American Express Platinum Cards, as long as you’ve had the card for a few months and have started to see Amex Offers rolling in.
Meanwhile, for non-Platinum cardholders, there are two other less lucrative deals floating around, but still worth taking advantage of if you’ll be shopping at Lululemon anyway.
