What we loved: The Nimb Hotel provides direct and complimentary access to Tivoli Gardens, offering a truly enchanting setting. The spacious and beautifully appointed rooms, paired with thoughtful touches like a complimentary minibar and snacks, elevated the experience. We also appreciated the generous breakfast included for all guests, the convenient central location, and the indulgent hammam steam room.
What we didn’t love: Standard rooms can only accommodate two guests, which means that families travelling with children will need to reserve a suite or multiple rooms.
How to book: This hotel participates in the Hilton Honors program and requires 130,000 points per night for a standard redemption. Cash rates range from $700 to over $1,200 (CAD) per night plus taxes and fees.
If you’re booking a cash rate, be sure to get in touch with our travel agency, Prince Collection, for a quote. Nimb Hotel – About The Property
The Nimb Hotel is a five-star boutique property owned by and located within Tivoli Gardens, recognized as one of the world’s top hotels.
The building first opened in 1909 as part of the Moorish-inspired Nimb Palace in Tivoli Gardens. Originally featuring a “bazar” with craft exhibitions, it also housed Restaurant Nimb, operated by Vilhelm and Louise Nimb, who quickly became known as Copenhagen’s leading culinary entrepreneurs.

After an extensive refurbishment, the Nimb Hotel debuted in 2008 with just 17 rooms. Each was designed with a unique identity, blending antiques from around the world with modern Danish design. A 2017 expansion brought the property to 38 rooms, with the original accommodations featuring fireplaces that provide extra charm in winter, while the newer rooms offer balconies and views overlooking Tivoli Gardens. The coveted corner suites even overlook Tivoli’s concert area, offering a front-row view of summer performances.
Location
Nestled in the heart of downtown Copenhagen, Nimb Hotel occupies a prime position at the entrance of the historic Tivoli Gardens, just steps from Copenhagen Central Station.
The hotel is incredibly accessible from Copenhagen Airport. By taxi or car, the journey typically takes 10 to 15 minutes, while the direct train from the airport to Copenhagen Central Station takes around 15 to 20 minutes.
Beyond its convenient arrival links, Nimb Hotel places guests within walking distance of many of Copenhagen’s top destinations, such as the pedestrian shopping street Strøget, the National Museum, and the royal palaces.
Booking
For this stay, I reserved two Deluxe Rooms to accommodate my family. In 2024, Hilton established a partnership with Small Luxury Hotels of the World (SLH), enabling Hilton Honors members to earn and redeem points across a wide selection of SLH properties. I utilized a combination of Hilton Honors points and two Free Night Rewards for this booking, with standard award nights at this property requiring 130,000 points per night.
For incidental expenses during my stay, I chose the Chase Sapphire Preferred Card, which earns 3X points on travel purchases and does not charge foreign transaction fees. For Canadian cardholders, the Scotiabank Gold American Express® Card is another strong option, as it also waives foreign transaction fees.
- Earn 30,000 Scene+ points upon spending $2,000 in the first three months
- Plus, earn an additional 20,000 Scene+ points upon spending $7,500 in the first year
- Earn 6x Scene+ points at Sobeys, IGA, Safeway, FreshCo, and more
- Plus, earn 5x Scene+ points on groceries, dining, and entertainment
- Also, earn 3x Scene+ points on gas, transit, and select streaming services
- Redeem points for a statement credit for any travel expense
- No foreign transaction fees
- Enjoy the exclusive benefits of being an American Express cardholder
- Annual fee: $120 (waived for the first year)
I opted not to use a Hilton American Express card, as I was unsure whether the property would code as a Hilton stay and qualify for the enhanced earning rates on Hilton spending.
At Prince of Travel, we generally value Hilton Honors points at 0.7 cents per point (CAD) or 0.5 cents per point (USD), so this could be a decent redemption value depending on the cash rate at the time of booking.
The Nimb Hotel participates in Small Luxury Hotels withIN, a preferred partner program accessible through our in-house travel agency, Prince Collection.
By booking through us, you’ll pay the best available rate (and sometimes even less), and have access to exclusive benefits, such as a $100 (USD) property credit, complimentary breakfast for two, one-category room upgrade, early check-in, late check-out (subject to availability), plus a welcome gift and letter.

Nimb Hotel – Check-In Experience
Our car pulled up to the entrance of the Nimb Hotel, where impeccably dressed staff were waiting to assist us with our luggage. The check-in process was smooth and efficient, and while there was no specific acknowledgement of my Hilton Honors Diamond status, the staff did highlight that breakfast would be included with our stay.

As our rooms were not yet ready, we were graciously invited to enjoy a complimentary non-alcoholic beverage at the hotel’s elegant Nimb Brasserie, a thoughtful gesture that set a welcoming tone for our visit.
As a Hilton Honors Diamond member, we were presented with following elite perks:
- Upgrade: One of our rooms was upgraded to a slightly larger configuration to accommodate our three children. A couple of the hotel’s top-category suites were available for cash upgrades, however, we declined.
- Welcome amenity: In our rooms, we received a welcome snack and drinks; the children received packaged popcorn and apple juice, along with a Rubik’s Cube and UNO card games, while our room included a bottle of champagne, beer, and delicate macarons.
- Late check-out: This was not offered at check-in, although it was not required for our stay.
- Breakfast: Included in all stays at the property, regardless of hotel elite status.
Nimb Hotel – Deluxe Room
The Nimb Hotel maintains a cohesive aesthetic throughout, yet every room is thoughtfully designed with unique details that set it apart.
The Deluxe Room at Nimb Hotel strikes a perfect balance between timeless elegance and modern comfort. A spacious entrance way leads into the bedroom, where a grand king-sized bed dressed with plush pillows serves as the centrepiece. Beside the bed, antique nightstands are fitted with European outlets and USB ports for convenience.

On the side wall, is a smaller smart TV mounted discreetly, maintaining the room’s refined aesthetic. The design combines antique furnishings with contemporary touches, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere that reflects the hotel’s heritage.

On the other side of the room there is a cozy sitting area with a loveseat, coffee table, antique chair and writing desk, the perfect spot to read, enjoy a drink, or catch up on some work.

The coffee table was set with macarons, chips, beer, a bottle of champagne as a welcome amenity.

The floor-to-ceiling windows flood the space with natural light and provide a view over Tivoli Gardens, giving the room a bright and airy feel.

Glass doors lead out to a small French balcony, a lovely place to take in the view or enjoy a theatrical performance from the outdoor stage located directly across. At night, thick blackout curtains make the room feel private and peaceful.

Storage is thoughtfully designed, with drawers hidden within the closet, which also includes a yoga mat, block, clothing steamer, safe, and tote bags for use during visits to the rooftop pool.
The beverage and snack armoire serves as a delightful focal point, stocked with tea, coffee, chocolates, and candies. A well-appointed minibar offers water, juice, soda, beer, wine, and spirits. All non-alcoholic beverages, beer, and snacks are complimentary and replenished daily.
The bathroom is spacious and luxurious, featuring light-coloured walls contrasted with rich dark tiles. A soaking tub and separate walk-in shower provide flexibility, while a separate water closet enhances privacy.
The vanity area offers dual sinks and is stocked with Amouage bath amenities, as well as elevated touches such as hair ties, feminine kits, bath salts, an exfoliating glove, lavender-scented disinfection spray, and even a Dyson hair dryer. Robes and slippers were nicely folded under the vanity.
Turndown service each evening replenished bottled water and added a sweet touch with fine chocolates, rounding out the overall sense of luxury.
The kids’ room was slightly larger than ours and included a small dinette set for two along with a rollaway bed that was added for an extra fee.
As a welcome amenity, their coffee table was set with toys, popcorn, and juice, a thoughtful touch that was very well received.

Nimb Hotel – Food and Drink
Dining at the Nimb Hotel combines culinary sophistication with a memorable setting. The hotel’s signature restaurant, Nimb Brasserie, features a French-inspired menu available for both lunch and dinner, accompanied by panoramic views of Tivoli Gardens. With its lively yet elegant ambiance, the brasserie appeals not only to hotel guests but also to Copenhagen locals, particularly in the evenings with its full-service bar that offers an extensive selection of cocktails, wines, and spirits.
Breakfast is also served at Nimb Brasserie and sets the tone for the day with a smaller but refined buffet of continental and hot selections, including cereals, yogurt, salads, pancakes, pastries, bacon, and more. Guests can enjoy freshly pressed vitality juices, as well as order eggs or a main dish from the à la carte menu, creating a balanced mix of quality and choice.
For a taste of traditional flavours with a modern twist, Fru Nimb serves elevated versions of classic Danish dishes in an elegant space that feels both warm and sophisticated.
On select days when Tivoli Gardens is open, the Japanese Pagoda transforms into a unique dining stage, hosting a rotating lineup of Michelin-starred restaurants from around the world. These monthly pop-up residencies provide guests with the rare opportunity to sample world-class cuisine.
Room service is also available, allowing guests to enjoy refined dining in the comfort and privacy of their room.
Just beyond the hotel, guests have access to an abundance of additional dining options. Sticks’n’Sushi offers a tempting combination of sushi and yakitori skewers, with the added convenience of in-room delivery, while the lively Tivoli Food Hall provides a range of international dishes in a casual setting.

In addition, Tivoli is home to numerous food outlets, offering everything from casual bites to indulgent treats within the gardens.
Nimb Hotel – Other Facilities
The hotel’s rooftop is a true highlight, featuring a heated outdoor pool framed by comfortable loungers and patio furniture. A rooftop bar adds to the atmosphere, making it an inviting space to relax while enjoying sweeping views of Copenhagen and Tivoli Gardens below.

The hotel has a strong focus on wellbeing, with offering complimentary access to a Moroccan hammam, complete with a salt scrub and steam room, and a fully-equipped gym. Complimentary morning yoga in Tivoli Gardens is also offered on select days of the week.
For a fee, guests can also access a hyperbaric therapy room, a serene relaxation lounge, and a curated menu of spa treatments inspired by traditions from around the world.
A stay at Nimb Hotel also includes the unique privilege of complimentary access to Tivoli Gardens, complete with an unlimited ride pass. While most rides are best suited for children between the ages of four and twelve, the park’s live performances and evening fireworks appeal to guests of all ages. During our visit, the American band Train performed, adding to the lively atmosphere, while the Black Eyed Peas had taken the stage just a few weeks earlier.

If you’d rather enjoy the performances from the comfort of your room, the Corner Suite is ideal as it overlooks the open-air stage. Alternatively, you can book a special dinner package at one of the Nimb restaurants, which includes exclusive outdoor seating with the same view.
Conclusion
For a small boutique property, the Nimb Hotel delivers an extraordinary luxury experience in the very heart of Copenhagen. Its seamless blend of history, design, and modern amenities creates a sense of refined elegance, while thoughtful inclusions such as complimentary access to Tivoli Gardens, daily breakfast, and in-room snacks elevate the guest experience even further.
