Prince of Travel ("we", "us", "our") operates princeoftravel.com (the "Site"). This privacy policy explains how we collect, use, protect, and share your personal information in accordance with Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and applicable provincial privacy legislation.

Information We Collect

Information you provide directly:

• Account registration: Name, email address, and password when you create an account
• Membership purchases: Billing information processed by Stripe (we do not store payment card numbers on our servers)
• Profile data: Home airport, travel goals, loyalty program balances, and card portfolio information you choose to share
• Newsletter subscription: Email address and name when you subscribe
• Contact forms: Name, email, and message content
• Hotel booking requests: Travel dates, hotel preferences, and guest details submitted for Prince Collection bookings

Information collected automatically:

• Analytics: Pages visited, time on site, referring source, device type, and browser – collected via Google Analytics. This data is aggregated and not linked to your personal identity.
• Cookies: Essential cookies for authentication and site functionality, analytics cookies for usage measurement, and advertising cookies served by Mediavine (our display advertising partner). See the Cookies section below.
• Server logs: IP address, request timestamps, and referrer URLs retained for security and debugging.

Ask Prince of Travel conversations:

When you use Ask Prince of Travel, your messages are sent to Anthropic for processing. Conversations are:

• Stored in our database for logged-in users to enable chat history and continuity
• Processed by Anthropic's API in the United States. Anthropic does not use your conversations to train their models. See Anthropic's privacy policy for details.
• Retained for up to 24 months, after which they are automatically deleted

How We Use Your Information

• To provide and improve our services, including content, membership features, and Ask Prince of Travel
• To deliver newsletters and marketing communications you have opted into (in compliance with CASL)
• To process membership payments and manage your subscription
• To personalize your experience, including Ask Prince of Travel recommendations
• To analyze Site usage and improve our content and products
• To respond to your inquiries and support requests
• To detect and prevent fraud or unauthorized access

Data Processors

We share your data with the following third-party service providers, each of which processes data on our behalf under contractual obligations:

• Supabase – Authentication, database, and user accounts (US)
• Stripe – Payment processing and subscription management (US)
• Klaviyo – Email marketing and newsletters (US)
• Anthropic – Ask Prince of Travel processing (US)
• Mediavine – Display advertising (US)
• Google Analytics – Anonymized site analytics (US)

We do not sell your personal information. We may also share data if required by Canadian law or court order, or to protect our legal rights.

Cross-Border Data Transfers

Several of our service providers operate in the United States. By using the Site, you acknowledge that your personal information may be transferred to and processed in the US, where privacy laws may differ from those in Canada. We ensure appropriate contractual protections are in place with all processors.

Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL)

We comply with Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation. We will only send you commercial electronic messages (emails) if you have provided express or implied consent. Every marketing email includes a clear unsubscribe link. We honour all unsubscribe requests within 10 business days.

Your Rights Under PIPEDA

As a Canadian resident, you have the right to:

• Access your personal information held by us
• Correct inaccurate personal information
• Withdraw consent for data processing (which may limit your ability to use certain features)
• Delete your account and associated personal data
• Unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time

To exercise any of these rights, email privacy@princeoftravel.com. We will respond within 30 days.

Data Retention

• Account and profile data: Until you delete your account, plus 30 days for backup recovery
• Chat conversations: 24 months from creation
• Newsletter subscriber data: Until you unsubscribe
• Payment records: 7 years (tax and legal compliance)
• Analytics data: 26 months (Google Analytics default)
• Server logs: 90 days

Cookies

We use three categories of cookies:

• Essential: Required for authentication, security, and core site functionality. Cannot be disabled.
• Analytics: Google Analytics cookies to measure site usage. You can opt out via Google's opt-out tool.
• Advertising: Mediavine uses cookies to serve relevant display ads. Platinum Members receive ad-free browsing. You can manage advertising preferences through your browser settings or Mediavine's privacy policy.

Payment Security

All payment processing is handled by Stripe, which is PCI DSS Level 1 certified. We never store, process, or have access to your full credit card number.

Children's Privacy

The Site is not directed at individuals under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us and we will promptly delete it.

Data Breach Notification

In the event of a data breach that poses a real risk of significant harm, we will notify affected individuals and the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada as required by PIPEDA's breach notification requirements.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via email to registered users and posted on this page with the updated date.
