Anyone interested in using points and miles to travel better – whether you're a complete beginner or someone who's been collecting points for years. Our community includes newcomers, families, retirees, and busy professionals.

What's the difference between paying and just reading the free Prince of Travel articles?

Free content covers what's possible. Membership is what's actually working right now, with real data points from members, weekly live walkthroughs, replays (the full library on the annual plan), and a way to ask questions instead of guessing. The articles explain how points work. Members get help from the team and from each other to use them on their own trips.

I'm new to Miles & Points. Will I be lost?

Not at all. Our live learning sessions start from the basics and our community is full of members who were new themselves not long ago. Members also get access to beginner guides and exclusive walkthroughs that aren't public.

How quickly will I start seeing results?

Many members book their first award redemption within weeks of joining. Most say their very first redemption saved them more than the cost of a full year of membership.

Will membership pay for itself?

For most members, yes – usually within the first redemption. A single business-class booking from Canada to Asia or Europe routinely saves $3,000 to $6,000 in cash fare versus what the points and a $35 or $335 membership cost. The point isn't the membership fee. The point is the lifetime of better trips.

Is this just for Canadians?

Our content emphasizes Canadian credit cards and loyalty programs, but the points and miles strategies we teach apply globally. We cover U.S. credit card strategies too.

What kind of live events do you run?

Regular live events, expert panels, breaking-news reactions, hands-on workshops, and learning sessions. They're recorded: annual members can watch every replay in the library, and monthly members get replays from 90 days before they join, plus 2 picks a month to unlock older ones.

Can I share my membership with my partner or family?

A membership is for one person, with one sign-in. People in your household can watch live sessions and replays with you, on your screen. Many couples have one member who runs the points strategy for both of them.

Should I pick monthly or annual?

Annual saves you 20% ($85 a year), locks in your rate, and includes the whole replay library. If you're testing the waters, monthly is fine and you can switch to annual any time from your account. Many members move to annual within the first three months once they see the live event cadence.

Can I cancel anytime?

Yes. There are no long-term contracts or commitments. You can cancel your membership before your next renewal period – monthly or annual.

Amex Gold gave $200 retention credit, here's the script

Called the Amex retention line two days after my anniversary fee posted. Asked about closing because the airline credit doesn't fit my travel anymore. Agent put me on hold for about three minutes and came back with two offers. One was a $150 statement credit for spending $3K in 90 days. The other was $200 outright, with no spend, for keeping the card 12 more months. Took the $200. Worth noting: the script that worked was specific. Mentioning competitor card offers (Cobalt, Marriott Bonvoy Brilliant) didn't move the needle. What did move it was framing the call around 'the way I travel changed and I'm not getting value here anymore.' That triggered the loyalty queue, not the cancel-prevention queue. Calls that start with 'I want to cancel' get cancelled. Calls that start with 'I'm not sure this card still fits' get retention offers. Your mileage may vary, but that's been my pattern across three Amex cards this year.

Used 25K Aeroplan for the upgrade at the gate. The agent confirmed availability about 90 minutes before boarding once the cabin had been zeroed out for revenue. Three things that worked: I checked seat maps every few hours starting 24h before departure, asked nicely at the desk the moment I hit the airport, and stayed flexible on seat pair (didn't push for a couples-row). One thing to know first: Aeroplan upgrades with points work on Air Canada flights only, so this won't help on Lufthansa or ANA.

Renewal coming up next month and I'm split. The transfer partners (British Airways Avios, Cathay, American AAdvantage, WestJet) have actually gotten more useful since the Avios family unification, but the earn rate hasn't moved in three years and I'm carrying it mostly for the British Airways transfer. Anyone still finding the Avion ecosystem worth $120/yr in 2026, or are folks moving the spend to Amex MR? I have a Cobalt in the wallet already so MR isn't a stretch. Just curious about real-world current views.
