TD has just announced some upcoming changes to its line of TD Rewards credit cards and these changes are overall positive without any tradeoffs.

Starting April 30, 2025, new and existing cardholders of the TD Rewards family of personal credit cards can look forward to exciting new perks, including complimentary airport lounge access and higher earn rates in several popular spending categories.

The best part? These upgrades come with no additional fees or devaluations to redemption rates.

Let’s take a look into details of each card.

TD First Class Travel® Visa Infinite* Card

Starting April 30, 2025, the TD First Class Travel® Visa Infinite Card* will offer new benefits, including complimentary airport lounge access, higher earn rates in additional spending categories, and updates to its terms and conditions.

These changes come without any increase to the annual fee or reductions to existing perks, making this one of the most noteworthy updates in the Canadian credit card space this year.

The highlight of these changes is the introduction of Visa Airport Companion membership, a long-awaited feature that finally bringing its tier up to match its competitor cards like the CIBC Aventura® Visa Infinite* Card or the Scotiabank Passport® Visa Infinite* Card. This membership, which is powered by DragonPass, provides access to over 1,200 airport lounges worldwide, including Plaza Premium Lounges.

Cardholders will also receive four complimentary lounge visits per year, valued at $128 (USD).

Accelerated Earning Rates

The TD First Class Travel® Visa Infinite* Card is also introducing new ways to earn more TD Rewards Points on popular spending categories:

  • Public Transit Purchases: Earn 6 points per dollar spent, including subway, bus, railway, and ferry fares (up to $25,000 annually).
  • Streaming, Digital Gaming & Media Purchases: Earn 4 points per dollar spent, including services like cable, digital apps, in-game purchases, e-books, and streaming platforms (shared $25,000 annual cap with PAPs).
  • Drinking Places: Earn 6 points per dollar spent, including bars, nightclubs, and cocktail lounges (up to $25,000 annually).
