Who doesn’t like saying “challenge accepted,” right? Well here’s a hefty challenge that’s guaranteed to put even the most frequent of flyers to the test.
SAS Scandinavian Airlines is challenging members of its EuroBonus loyalty program to fly on 15 SkyTeam member airlines and in return, earn one million EuroBonus points!
SAS EuroBonus Million Points Promotion
SAS EuroBonus, the loyalty program for Scandinavian Airlines, is offering its members ONE MILLION EuroBonus points if they fly on 15 SkyTeam member airlines before the end of 2024.
SAS, the newest member of the SkyTeam alliance, has launched the gamified promotion offering members of its loyalty program the chance to earn between 10,000 and one million bonus points. Basically, the more SkyTeam member airlines you fly the more EuroBonus points you earn.
The More You Fly The More Points You’ll Earn
Just two months after joining the SkyTeam alliance, Scandinavian Airlines (SAS) says it wants EuroBonus members to find out how great the rest of its fellow alliance members are.
Until December 31, 2024, the more you travel and experience the world with SkyTeam, the more EuroBonus points you’ll get.
Here’s how the challenge works:
- Travel with 5 different SkyTeam member airlines and earn 10,000 Bonus Points
- Travel with 10 different SkyTeam member airlines and earn 100,000 Bonus Points
- Travel with 15 different SkyTeam member airlines and earn one million Bonus Points
Anyone who successfully completes any of the challenges will get the points, meaning it’s not a one-winner-take-all promotion. You will however need to get all of those flights in by December 31, 2024.
There are a few rules to follow to ensure you don’t miss out on the points, including registering for the promotion through the SAS app and booking the flights with your EuroBonus membership number. Here’s what else you should know:
- For the flight to count, EuroBonus points must be earned on or used to pay for the flight.
- You get Bonus Points (not Level Points).
- Both cash fares and awards flights can count towards the challenge.
- It is the operating airline that is counted.
- If you book a flight where a route includes two operating airlines (e.g., one leg is with SAS and the other is with Delta), it counts as two partners for the challenge.
- You will be notified of the outcome in January 2025.
- You can only participate once, and you will receive a notification that the points have been distributed after the promotion.
- SAS employees are not eligible to participate.
- EuroBonus reserves the right to deny point rewards in case of abuse.
- If you are unable to add your EuroBonus number to the booking, please ask the check-in staff for assistance.
- In case of retroactive registration of a qualifying flight, the application for inclusion must be submitted by December 20, 2024, at the latest.
In total, 17 SkyTeam member airlines are included in the promotion, of which you’ll need to travel on 15 to get the one million points. Note that ITA Airways, Middle Eastern Airlines, and Czech Airlines, which is set to depart SkyTeam soon, are excluded from this promotion.
If you’re looking for some affordable, short flights to help meet this challenge, you could consider some of the following routes, which all have options available for about $100 (CAD) or less one-way:
- Ho Chi Minh City to Da Nang on Vietnam Airlines
- Los Angeles to Las Vegas on Delta Airlines
- Paris to Barcelona on Air France
- Madrid to Palma de Mallorca on Air Europa
- Buenos Aires to Cordoba on Aerolineas Argentinas
- Jakarta to Yogyakarta on Garuda Indonesia
- Riyadh to Dammam on Saudia
- Stockholm to Oslo on SAS
- Timisoara to Bucharest on TAROM
- Seoul to Jeju Island on Korean Air
- Mexico City to Oaxaca on Aeromexico
