The Hotel Dining Discounts I Actually Use

When I'm travelling, I don't always feel like researching restaurants. Sometimes I just want a reliable meal without the effort, and hotel restaurants tend to deliver on that front. You know the standards, you know the setting, and if you're staying at the property, you're already there.
Price has always been the tradeoff. Hotel dining carries a premium over comparable restaurants in town. But a handful of hotel loyalty programs now offer real dining discounts – typically 10–30% off the food bill – and they're a nice perk to have in your back pocket.
They won't change your life, but when you're too tired to venture out or just want something easy, getting a solid discount and earning points on top makes hotel dining a pretty reasonable option.
It's not just dinner, either. A lot of hotel bars – especially rooftop ones – have great atmosphere for a date night or drinks with friends. With a 20–25% discount on the tab, you can sometimes end up paying less than you would at a comparable bar in town, but with a better view and a more polished setting.
Hilton Dine Like a Member
Hilton's Dine Like a Member promotion is probably the most accessible hotel dining discount out there. It's available to all Hilton Honors members across Asia Pacific, and you don't need to be staying at the hotel to use it.
The discount is tiered by elite status. Gold and Diamond members receive 25% off food and beverages at participating restaurants, while base and Silver members get 10% off. All you need to do is show your digital Hilton Honors card on the app at the time of payment.

The offer currently runs from February 1 through December 31, 2026, and covers a wide range of Hilton properties across the region. There are some blackout dates around public holidays, and the discount applies to groups of up to 10 guests.
What I particularly like about this one is the bonus points component. Even if you're not staying at the hotel, you'll earn 500 Hilton Honors bonus points per bill on a minimum spend of $25 (USD) before taxes. It's not a huge haul, but it adds up over time and keeps your Hilton points balance from expiring.
If you hold an Amex Platinum Card or a Hilton co-branded credit card, you'll already have at least Gold status, which means the full 25% discount is within reach without spending a single night at a Hilton property.

I used this in Vietnam quite a bit. After the discount, the price for a bowl of pho at the Hilton Garden Inn Da Nang wasn't much different from what I'd pay at a local spot, but with the quality and hygiene of a hotel restaurant. On days when my stomach wasn't feeling adventurous, that peace of mind was worth it.
ALL Accor+ Explorer
ALL Accor+ Explorer takes a different approach. It's a paid subscription, currently priced around EUR 399 per year, but the dining discount alone can justify the cost if you eat at Accor properties with any regularity.
Members receive 30% off food and 15% off drinks for the entire table, up to 10 guests, at more than 1,600 participating restaurants across Asia Pacific. That's a significant discount, and the fact that it applies to the whole table makes it particularly valuable for group dining.
Under the old Accor Plus branding, the discount used to be 50% off for two diners, so the restructured benefit is less generous per person. But the tradeoff is flexibility, since the 30% discount now covers your full group rather than just two people.
Some venues operated by third-party restaurants within Accor hotels offer a flat 15% discount instead of the full 30%, so it's worth checking the specific outlet before you go. The ALL Accor+ Explorer app lists participating venues and their applicable discounts.
Beyond the subscription discount, Accor ALL members at all tiers earn 1 ALL point per EUR 1 spent at participating restaurants and bars, even without a stay. This is one of the few hotel programs that lets you earn points on walk-in dining, which makes it doubly useful.
Shangri-La Circle
Shangri-La Circle is a free program that offers a tiered dining discount at selected outlets across its portfolio. Gold members receive 10% off, Jade members get 15% off, and Diamond members enjoy 20% off.
The discounts apply at selected dining outlets globally, and you don't need to be staying at the hotel to use them. New members also receive a 15% discount on their first dining purchase as a welcome offer.
Shangri-La properties tend to have strong restaurant programs, often featuring award-winning chefs and cuisine. The dining discount gives you a reason to visit these restaurants even when you're not a hotel guest, and points earned on dining can be put toward future stays or restaurant visits.
Worth mentioning that if you hold KrisFlyer Elite Gold or PPS Club status, you can match to Shangri-La Circle Jade with just one qualifying night, which gets you the 15% dining discount. If you did a hotel status run in Kuala Lumpur or Singapore and picked up some hotel status along the way, extending that to Shangri-La Jade is an easy add-on.

I Prefer Hotel Rewards
I Prefer Hotel Rewards, the loyalty program for Preferred Hotels & Resorts, recently introduced dining discounts at several properties in Singapore. Members can enjoy up to 20% off the food bill at participating hotels, including The Fullerton Hotel, The Fullerton Bay Hotel, Artyzen, One Farrer Hotel, Amara Singapore, and Royal Plaza on Scotts.
The program is free to join, and the dining discount doesn't require a hotel stay. You simply present your I Prefer membership number or digital card at the restaurant.
Discounts vary by venue. Most participating outlets offer 20% off food, though some apply a 10% discount instead. Beverages, taxes, and gratuities are typically excluded, and the offer is valid for groups of five to eight guests depending on the outlet.
I Prefer isn't as widely known as the major hotel chains' programs, but it covers an impressive portfolio of independent luxury and upscale properties. If you're visiting Singapore, the dining discounts at Fullerton alone make it worth signing up. Aeroplan has also previously offered a status grant to I Prefer Titanium, so it's a program worth having on your radar.

What About Marriott, Hyatt, and IHG?
It's worth noting which major programs are absent from this list. Marriott Bonvoy, World of Hyatt, and IHG One Rewards don't offer any standalone dining discount for members at their hotel restaurants.
Marriott and Hyatt focus their dining benefits on elite breakfast for Platinum and Globalist members, respectively. IHG Diamond members have to choose between breakfast and bonus points as a welcome amenity, which already feels like a compromise.
None of these programs have a "show your app and get X% off dinner" benefit in the way that Hilton, Accor, Shangri-La, and I Prefer do. If hotel dining discounts matter to you, that's a real differentiator when deciding where to concentrate your loyalty.
Earning Points from Dining
Even if you're not getting a discount, it's worth remembering that several hotel programs let you earn points on dining at their restaurants without a stay.
Accor ALL members earn 1 point per EUR 1 spent at participating restaurants and bars, regardless of whether you're a hotel guest. Shangri-La Circle members earn points on all dining spend at the property. Hilton's Dine Like a Member gives you 500 bonus points per qualifying bill. And Marriott Bonvoy members can earn points on restaurant charges at participating hotels, even as a walk-in diner.

When you combine a dining discount with points earning, you're paying less than full price and building loyalty balances at the same time. Even without a discount, just linking your membership and earning on dining is a habit worth building.

For Canadian travellers spending time in Asia Pacific especially, where several of these programs overlap geographically, there's a real opportunity to eat well, save money, and build loyalty balances without any extra effort.
Conclusion
None of these discounts are going to blow your mind, but they're the kind of perk that's easy to overlook and genuinely useful when you need it. On nights when I don't feel like planning a dinner outing, knowing I can eat well at a hotel restaurant for a fair price is a nice fallback to have.
Hilton's Dine Like a Member is the easiest to take advantage of, especially if you already have Gold status through a credit card. ALL Accor+ Explorer has the strongest discount, but the subscription fee means it only makes sense if you dine at Accor properties regularly. Shangri-La Circle and I Prefer are smaller perks, but they're free and worth signing up for if you're in their footprint.
If you're heading to Asia Pacific and haven't enrolled in these programs yet, it takes a few minutes and could trim your dining bills over the course of a trip.
