Rosewood Hotels and Resorts is a collection of luxury properties with a relatively small but rapidly growing global footprint. Currently, there are only 31 Rosewood properties worldwide, with another 24 slated to open in the next couple of years.

With Rosewood properties often commanding very high prices, you’ll want to make sure you’re getting the best value for your stay. While Rosewood doesn’t have an in-house loyalty program, you can get extra value by making your booking through Rosewood Elite, a preferred partner program.

By booking your stay through an authorized travel advisor, you stand to benefit from an elevated experience at the same cost, or even less, than if you were to book it yourself.

What Is Rosewood Elite?

Rosewood Elite is Rosewood’s preferred partner program, which affords you with extra perks and benefits simply by making your booking through an authorized travel advisor.

What’s more, bookings made through a travel advisor won’t cost you anything extra compared to the best public flexible rate, and can offer great additional value. If you’re planning a stay at a Rosewood hotel, it’ll always be in your best interest to go through a travel advisor.

Fortunately, all Rosewood properties participate in Rosewood Elite, so no matter where you go, you can be sure to enhance your experience through Rosewood Elite.

You can find Rosewood hotels mostly concentrated in North America, Europe, and Asia. In the below map, the black pins represent existing properties, and the gold pins represent locations that will open in the near future.

As you can see, the number of Rosewood properties available will increase dramatically from 31 to 55 once the new developments are completed. In particular, the hotel group is greatly expanding its presence in Europe, the Middle East, and Asia.

Depending on where you’d like to travel, you can find Rosewood hotels in a number of remarkable destinations. For example, you can treat yourself to a beautiful stay in Tuscany at Rosewood Castiglion del Bosco, Las Ventanas al Paraíso in San José del Cabo, Mexico, or Rosewood Little Dix Bay in the British Virgin Islands.

The benefits offered at each property may differ, so if you have your sights set on a luxurious stay at a Rosewood hotel, be sure to get in touch with an advisor for a quote.

What Are the Benefits of Booking Through Rosewood Elite?

By making your booking through the Rosewood Elite preferred partner program, you’ll enjoy the following benefits at no extra cost:

  • Daily breakfast for two
  • A complimentary one-category upgrade at the time of booking or upon arrival (varies by property)
  • Additional property-specific benefits, such as a $100+ (USD) hotel credit per stay, early check-in, late check-out, and more

Since Rosewood doesn’t offer a status- or points-based loyalty program, the only way to elevate your stay without just paying extra is to book through Rosewood Elite.

As is always the case, there’s nothing better than waking up to daily breakfast for two during a stay at a luxurious Rosewood resort. It’ll feel even better knowing that it came included in your room’s rate, as paying out-of-pocket for breakfast at an upscale property can add up very quickly.

A room upgrade can also greatly enrich your experience, and a confirmed upgrade at the time of booking at some properties can save you the headache of trying to “suite-talk” your way into an upgrade at the time of check-in.

Enjoy upgrades at Rosewood hotels by booking through Rosewood Elite

Lastly, the property-specific benefits vary depending on the hotel, but can greatly enhance your stay or even save you a fair bit on travel expenses.

For example, an offer at the Rosewood Bermuda includes a $100 (USD) hotel credit per stay, access to the Primeclass Departure Lounge at L.F. Wade International Airport, and round-trip transfers between the airport and the resort if you book a suite.

Another example is a Rosewood Elite booking at the Rosewood Abu Dhabi comes with an $100 (USD) food & beverage credit per room per stay, with a minimum stay of two nights. However, if you book a suite, you’ll receive a $200 (USD) food & beverage credit, no matter the length of the stay.

You can book a suite at the Rosewood Abu Dhabi for as little as $325 (USD) on some nights, which means that the $200 (USD) credit can greatly reduce your overall incidental food and beverage costs on the property.

Your travel advisor will be happy to inform you of any promotions at Rosewood hotels during the booking process to ensure that you’re getting the best value.

How to Maximize Value with Rosewood Elite

While booking through a preferred partner program will already enhance your stay, you can squeeze even more value out of a Rosewood Elite booking by shopping around for rates and taking advantage of special offers that are available.

Compare with Virtuoso and American Express Fine Hotels & Resorts

Similar to Rosewood Elite, Virtuoso and Amex FHR are preferred partner programs, through which you can also receive enhanced benefits simply by booking your stay through them.

For Virtuoso bookings, you’ll also need to go through a dedicated travel advisor; however, Amex FHR bookings can be made on your own, provided that you hold either the American Express Platinum Card or the Business Platinum Card by American Express.

While bookings made through anyone of the three programs will have similar benefits, there are some key differences, which are summarized in the below table.

As you can see, the benefits are roughly similar between all of the programs; however, you may receive an even greater hotel credit by booking through Rosewood Elite, which would tip the scales in its favour.

To illustrate this, suppose you’re looking to stay at the Rosewood Baha Mar in the Bahamas for a two-night stay for two people.

Rosewood Baha Mar

With Rosewood Elite, Virtuoso, and Amex FHR, the price is the exact same for a Resort View King Room at $1,005 (USD) per night on a randomly selected set of dates. However, the benefits offered by each program differ slightly.

With Rosewood Elite, you’ll receive daily full breakfast for two, a complimentary upgrade upon arrival (subject to availability), and a $125 (USD) hotel credit. At the time of writing, there’s also a promotion offering an extra $100 (USD) resort credit per night, in addition to all other benefits.

With Virtuoso, you’ll receive the same daily breakfast for two, complimentary upgrade upon arrival (subject to availability), early check-in and late check-out (subject to availability), and a $100 (USD) hotel credit that can only be used on food and drinks.

Lastly, with Amex FHR, you’ll receive daily breakfast for two, a complimentary room upgrade (subject to availability), early check-in (subject to availability), a guaranteed 4pm late check-out, and a one-time $100 (USD) food and beverage credit.

With the extra $100 (USD) nightly credit you’ll receive when booking directly through Rosewood, the winner here is pretty clear. But if you’re looking at dates that don’t come with the extra $100 (USD) nightly credit, then you’d have to decide whether you prefer the guaranteed late check-out offered by Amex FHR or the extra and more flexible hotel credit offered through Rosewood Elite.

Keep in mind that Rosewood Elite prioritizes room upgrades, early check-in, and late check-out requests if you book through their own program, compared to third-party programs like Virtuoso and Amex FHR (with the exception of the latter’s guaranteed 4pm late check-out benefit).

Maximize Property-Specific Special Offers

As we saw in the above example, property-specific special offers can really help you get the most out of your Rosewood stay.

While not every property has promotions above and beyond what’s offered through the regular Rosewood Elite benefits, select properties may have extra hotel credits, free nights, added inclusions, or other discounts on your room.

Of these, scoring a free night is by far the most valuable benefit you can find. Typically, you’ll need to stay a minimum number of nights, but then you’ll receive an additional night for free, which brings down the overall average nightly cost for your booking.

For example, suppose you’d like to stay at the lovely Rosewood Miramar Beach in California. If you were to book three nights at the property on your own, you’d wind up paying an average of $1,795 (USD) per night. However, through the More Miramar promotion offered through Rosewood Elite, your nightly rate drops down to just $1,197 (USD), which is a significant discount.

Keep in mind that the free night comes in addition to all of the other benefits offered through the preferred partner program.

In situations like this, it’s most definitely in your best interest to book through Rosewood Elite. Your travel advisor will be happy to point out any promotions that are available that can both enhance your stay and save you a tidy sum of money.

Book Shorter Stays

Lastly, keep in mind that the hotel credits that come as a preferred partner program benefit are usually only offered once per stay, no matter how many nights your stay is for.

By booking shorter stays, you’ll get the most relative value out of your hotel credit; however, you won’t be able to book multiple single-night bookings and stack multiple credits, as these will be considered a single stay and you’ll still only get one credit.

Conclusion

Rosewood Hotels and Resorts are some of the most luxurious properties available, and the brand is growing at a rapid pace with multiple openings around the world in the coming years.

While Rosewood hotels can be quite pricey, you can maximize your value by making a booking through the Rosewood Elite preferred partner program. You won’t have to pay anything extra for your stay compared to the best public flexible rate, and not only will you be able to enjoy a lot of extra perks and benefits, you may wind up saving on the room rate through Rosewood Elite promotions too.
