From April 1 to June 30, 2026, new users can earn up to 7,000 Aeroplan points by paying expenses like rent, tuition, utilities, taxes, and more with a credit card through Chexy.

It's a simple way to rack up points on bills that normally don't earn anything.

The platform accepts American Express, Visa, and now Mastercard credit cards for payments, giving you more flexibility than ever in how you earn.

Earn Up to 7,000 Bonus Aeroplan Points with Chexy

This Aeroplan offer lets you earn bonus points on top of whatever your credit card already earns, simply by using the platform to pay your bills.

New Chexy users are eligible to earn up to 7,000 bonus Aeroplan points as part of this limited-time offer. Here's how the bonus breaks down:

• Earn 1,000 Aeroplan points when you create an account, add your Aeroplan number, and complete your first payment
• Earn up to 6,000 Aeroplan points through monthly payments: 125 points per qualifying payment, on up to four payments per month, for 12 months

That means you can earn up to 500 bonus Aeroplan points per month just by paying bills you'd be paying anyway.

Eligible expenses include rent, tuition, taxes, car leases, property tax, utilities, insurance, daycare, and condo fees. Mortgage payments and car loans are not eligible.

To qualify, all transactions must be successfully processed, meaning the card is charged and the payment is issued. Points may take up to 60 days to post to your Aeroplan account.

Which Credit Card Should You Use with Chexy?

Processing fees are 1.75% for domestic credit cards and 2.5% for international cards. These fees can be reduced to as low as 0.5% by referring others, which we'll cover below.

To offset the cost, it's best to use a credit card that earns high-value rewards or helps you unlock a welcome bonus.

Aeroplan co-branded credit cards are ideal for this purpose, thanks to our high valuation of Aeroplan points.

For example, if you use a premium Aeroplan co-branded credit card, you can earn 1.25 Aeroplan points per dollar spent on payments via Chexy.

With a core Aeroplan credit card, you'll earn 1 Aeroplan point per dollar spent.

You're also not limited to Aeroplan cards. The platform now accepts Visa and Mastercard in addition to American Express, so any rewards-earning credit card will do the trick.

Invite Friends, Earn More

The Aeroplan partnership also includes a referral component that can boost your points balance even further while lowering the cost of your processing fee.

With the new offer bringing in more users, this is an especially good time for existing Chexy users to refer friends.

New and existing users can earn 1,000 Aeroplan points per referral, in addition to Chexy's existing give-and-get $15 cash referral bonus (which both the referrer and the referee get). To qualify, your referral needs to complete a successful first payment.

The referral bonus of 1,000 Aeroplan points is capped at 10 referrals (up to 10,000 points each calendar year). You'll continue to earn the $15 Chexy referral bonus for every additional friend you refer beyond that cap.

There's an additional incentive to refer friends, since you'll pay a progressively lower processing fee as you bring more people in:

• 3 referrals = Pink Referrer Status → 1.5% processing fee
• 5 referrals = Gold Referrer Status → 1.0% processing fee
• 10 referrals = Elite Referrer Status → 0.5% processing fee

These referral counts reset each January, but they offer a solid way to shrink your processing fee and stretch the value of every dollar you run through the platform.

Is the Chexy Aeroplan Offer Worth It?

With up to 7,000 Aeroplan points available, this offer is worth considering if you're paying rent or bills that don't normally earn rewards.

Based on our valuation of 2.1 cents per Aeroplan point, we'd value these bonus points at roughly $147, which can easily justify the cost of processing fees.

Let's run the numbers with a practical example. Say you use a premium Aeroplan credit card to pay three bills through Chexy each month:

• Rent: $2,000
• Hydro: $150
• Auto insurance: $200

That's $2,350 per month in payments. With the 1.75% fee, your total charges come to about $2,391. Each bill counts as a qualifying payment, so you'd earn 375 Chexy bonus points per month (three payments × 125 points).

On top of that, your premium Aeroplan card earns 1.25 points per dollar, adding roughly 2,989 points per month from the credit card itself.

In the first month, you'd also collect the 1,000-point welcome bonus, bringing your total to about 4,364 Aeroplan points worth roughly $92 (CAD), in exchange for a $41 fee.

Over 12 months, you'd accumulate 5,500 bonus points from Chexy (1,000 welcome + 4,500 monthly) plus roughly 35,870 points from your credit card, for a combined total of about 41,370 Aeroplan points valued at around $868 (CAD).

Combine this with the referral program to lower your processing fee to as low as 0.5%, and the value gets even better.

Conclusion

If you're already paying rent, utilities, or insurance, there's no reason those payments shouldn't be earning you Aeroplan points. At 125 points per payment up to four times per month, the math favours anyone with multiple recurring bills.

If you hold a premium Aeroplan card and can refer even a few friends, you're looking at 40,000+ Aeroplan points a year at a sub-1% fee. That's a return most credit card welcome bonuses can't match on an ongoing basis.
