BMO has just released a new set of limited-time offers on a pair of its AIR MILES credit cards, letting you earn up to 3,000 AIR MILES,† worth up to $316 (all figures in CAD).

For this round, the welcome bonuses on the BMO AIR MILES®† World Elite®* Mastercard®* and BMO AIR MILES®† Mastercard®* have increased.

BMO AIR MILES®† World Elite®* Mastercard®*: Up to 3,000 AIR MILES†

The BMO AIR MILES®† World Elite®* Mastercard®* is currently being offered with a welcome bonus of up to 3,000 AIR MILES,† which are valued at $316 when redeemed most ways. This is an increase from the previously offered bonus of up to 2,000 AIR MILES.

To earn the full bonus, you’ll have to meet the following conditions:

  • Earn 3,000 AIR MILES upon spending $3,000 in the first three months†

Sweetening the deal is a first-year annual fee waiver worth $120,† letting you earn the welcome bonus without an upfront fee payment in the first year.

As a reminder, the earning rates on the card are as follows:

  • 3 AIR MILES per $12 spent at participating AIR MILES Reward Partners†
  • 2 AIR MILES per $12 spent on eligible purchases at grocery stores, wholesale clubs, and alcohol retailers†
  • 1 AIR MILE per $12 spent on all other eligible purchases†

Elevated earning at alcohol retailers and wholesale clubs is a recent improvement to the BMO AIR MILES®† World Elite®* Mastercard®*, making it one of the best credit cards for Costco.

With the card tethered to the AIR MILES program, you’ll have additional opportunities to earn more rewards through in-store purchases, scanned receipts, card-linked offers, and online shopping, amongst others.

Plus, as a BMO AIR MILES®† World Elite®* Mastercard®* holder, you’re automatically qualified for AIR MILES Onyx status,† which allows you to redeem flights and merchandise for fewer AIR MILES, and transfer between Cash Miles and Dream Miles with no limit.

Another benefit you can expect from the card is a 25% flight discount on one eligible AIR MILES flight redemption every calendar year, up to a maximum of 750 AIR MILES.†

You’ll also gain a complimentary DragonPass membership for airport lounges, though you’ll have to pay a preferential rate of $32 (USD) per visit and per guest.†

The BMO AIR MILES®† World Elite®* Mastercard®* comes with DragonPass membership

The BMO AIR MILES®† World Elite®* Mastercard®* requires either $80,000 in annual personal income, or $150,000 in annual household income, to qualify.†

To be eligible for the offer above, you must apply and be approved for the card by September 30, 2024.

BMO AIR MILES®† Mastercard®*: Up to 1,500 AIR MILES†

The no-fee BMO AIR MILES®† Mastercard®* is currently being offered with a welcome bonus of up to 1,500 AIR MILES,† which carry a value of $157 when redeemed most ways. This is almost a doubling of the previous bonus of 800 AIR MILES.

To earn the full bonus, you’ll have to meet the following conditions:

  • Earn 1,500 AIR MILES upon spending $1,000 in the first three months†

As a reminder, the card features the following earning scheme:

  • 3 AIR MILES per $25 spent at eligible AIR MILES Partners†
  • 2 AIR MILES per $25 spent on eligible purchases at grocery stores, wholesale clubs, and alcohol retailers†
  • 1 AIR MILE per $25 spent on all other eligible purchases†

The card charges no annual fees for the principal and supplementary cards, so you can hold it to not only collect the welcome bonus but also keep it for a longstanding credit history.†

By way of benefits, this no-fee card understandably doesn’t offer much, but it does grant you AIR MILES Gold status, which lets you redeem flights and merchandise for fewer AIR MILES. You’ll also be able to transfer between Cash Miles and Dream Miles with an annual limit of 1,000 AIR MILES.

The BMO AIR MILES®† Mastercard®* comes with AIR MILES Gold status

The BMO AIR MILES®† Mastercard®* doesn’t come with a minimum income requirement, making it perfect for newcomers, students, and those starting on a new job.†

To be eligible for the offer above, you must apply and be approved for the card by September 30, 2024.
