24-Hour Layover: Dublin

We actually skipped the Guinness Storehouse and went to the Irish Whiskey Museum instead. It was a tip from our guide on the free New Europe Dublin Tour (we can recommend that one too). It was very interesting to hear about the origin of whiskey and the "fight" with the Scots about who was first. 😉 We took the blending tour and blended our own whiskey, which was very cool too, if you’re a Whiskey fan of course.

Yeah I’ve heard excellent things about the Whiskey Museum. The Jameson Distillery tour is also worth visiting if you’re a whiskey person.

Dublin has been on my to-do list for quite a while now. It looks really cool from your description so I wonder, perhaps this year is the time to go. Taking a wild guess, how long do you think I should stay? Two days? Three? Or even longer?

      Hi there,

I reckon three days is enough. That’s plenty of time to see everything I’ve mentioned in great detail, plus spend some time exploring some cool neighbourhoods. I hear the rest of Ireland is great as well, so see if you can catch some of County Cork etc. on your trip.
