Singapore Airlines has announced that there will be some changes coming to its KrisFlyer loyalty program later this year.
As of November 1, 2025, redemption rates are changing (in both directions, though mostly up) on its various award charts, and there will be a third redemption type (Access awards) with dynamic pricing introduced.
While KrisFlyer has become more difficult to access ever since HSBC Rewards was phased out of Canada, the program still offers great opportunities to access some of the most aspirational flight experiences around for those who are willing to work for them.

Upcoming Changes to Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer
On November 1, 2025, Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer is making some adjustments to its award charts, which will affect the number of KrisFlyer miles it will require for awards and upgrades.
There are also some other changes coming to how you can earn KrisFlyer miles, which can be found on the Singapore Airlines website.
Singapore Airlines Award Chart Changes
In some cases (for economy flights within Asia and the South West Pacific), the redemption rates are going down, while in other cases (for business class and First Class flights, as well as economy redemptions to other zones), redemption rates are increasing.
Here’s a quick breakdown of what’s changing:
- Economy Saver redemptions for flights within Asia and the South West Pacific (Zones 1–9) are decreasing by 5%
- Business and Suites/First Saver redemptions for flights within Asia and the South West Pacific are increasing by 5%
- Saver awards in all classes of service for flights to and from Europe and the United States (Zones 11–13) are increasing by 5%
- Saver awards in all classes of service for flights to and from Africa, the Middle East, and Türkiye are increasing by 10–20%
- Advantage award rates in all classes of service and all zones except for Zone 10 are increasing by 10–15%
- For Zone 10, Economy Advantage rates are increasing by 5%, Business Advantage rates are increasing by 18%, and Suites/First Advantage rates are increasing by 15%
These increased rates kick in as of November 1, 2025, and all redemptions ticketed before then will be subject to the current award chart.

Singapore Airlines Introduces “Access” Redemptions
In addition to Saver awards (which cost the fewest KrisFlyer miles) and Advantage awards (which cost more, but have greater availability), Singapore Airlines is introducing Access awards as part of the November update.
Access awards will offer KrisFlyer members a greater number of seats available for redemptions; however, it’s important to note that they’ll be subject to dynamic pricing (e.g., the cost in miles will fluctuate).
Unlike waitlist redemptions (which are available as Saver and Advantage awards), Access awards will be ticketed immediately. The below chart summarizes the differences between Saver, Advantage, and Access awards.
In many ways, Access redemptions will come with similar terms and conditions to Advantage awards, in that you’re allowed to have a stopover on a one-way journey and there’s a lower $50 cancellation fee compared to Saver awards. The below chart summarizes the fare differences between Saver, Advantage, and Access awards.
Keep an eye out for Access awards as of November 1, 2025.
Book Your Aspirational Flights Before the Prices Increase
Even after the devaluation of aspirational KrisFlyer redemptions in Singapore Airlines business class, First Class, and Suites Class, there’s still plenty of value to be found in the program, even if it’s for particularly niche cases.
When it comes to Singapore Airlines business class, the redemption rates are better when the same flights are booked through Aeroplan. However, it’s worth noting that KrisFlyer offers access to more award availability (especially to North American destinations).
For example, a one-way flight from Australia to Japan via Singapore costs 60,000 Aeroplan points. You can book the same flights through KrisFlyer for 100,500 KrisFlyer miles. (Plus, Aeroplan points are much easier to come by, especially in Canada).
Furthermore, flying from Singapore to New York (JFK) in business class costs 87,500 Aeroplan points or 111,500 KrisFlyer miles.
Of course, you’re more limited by award availability with Aeroplan than you are with KrisFlyer; however, if we’re comparing “Saver”-level award rates, Aeroplan still comes out ahead for business class redemptions in most cases.
If you have your eyes set on one of the best First Class products in the skies – Singapore Airlines A380 Suites Class – then you’ll have to fork out more miles for the experience as of November 1, 2025, which is unfortunate.

As it stands, Singapore Airlines flies the A380 on the following routes from/to Singapore, with the current Saver- and Advantage-level award prices:
- Hong Kong: 45,000 miles (Saver), 73,000 miles (Advantage)
- Shanghai: 58,500 miles (Saver), 98,000 miles (Advantage)
- Delhi: 58,500 miles (Saver), 98,000 miles (Advantage)
- Mumbai: 58,500 miles (Saver), 98,000 miles (Advantage)
- Tokyo Narita: 77,000 miles (Saver), 120,000 miles (Advantage)
- Sydney: 93,500 miles (Saver), 155,000 miles (Advantage)
- Frankfurt: 141,000 miles (Saver), 225,500 miles (Advantage)
- London Heathrow: 141,000 miles (Saver), 225,500 miles (Advantage)
Moving forward, you’ll have to pay the following amounts of KrisFlyer miles once the devaluation kicks in:
- Hong Kong: 47,500 miles (Saver), 84,000 miles (Advantage)
- Shanghai: 61,500 miles (Saver), 112,500 miles (Advantage)
- Delhi: 61,500 miles (Saver), 112,500 miles (Advantage)
- Mumbai: 61,500 miles (Saver), 112,500 miles (Advantage)
- Tokyo Narita: 81,000 miles (Saver), 138,000 miles (Advantage)
- Sydney: 98,000 miles (Saver), 178,500 miles (Advantage)
- Frankfurt: 148,000 miles (Saver), 259,500 miles (Advantage)
- London Heathrow: 148,000 miles (Saver), 259,500 miles (Advantage)
The increases are greater for Advantage awards than Saver awards, though it’s worth noting that it’s much easier to find Advantage awards for Suites Class bookings.
As you can see, if ticking A380 Suites off of your bucket list is important, you’ll still want to make a booking from Singapore to Hong Kong, Shanghai, Delhi, Mumbai, or Tokyo to get the best bang for your buck. That way, you can enjoy The Private Room – Singapore Airlines’s most exclusive lounge – and then an excellent in-flight experience onboard the A380.
By and large, Saver awards are relatively difficult to come by; however, they’re not impossible to find, and it’s certainly worth the extra effort if you ask me.
In Canada, ever since HSBC Rewards was phased out, the only meaningful way to access KrisFlyer is through transferring Marriott Bonvoy points. Otherwise, you’d have to look into cross-border credit card strategies, since KrisFlyer is a transfer partner with many transferable US points currencies.
Conclusion
On November 1, 2025, Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer is making some adjustments to its award chart. For the most part, this represents a devaluation, as you’ll have to pay more for most awards than you do now.
If you have your eye on business class redemptions with Singapore Airlines, your best bet is still to book them through Air Canada Aeroplan, as the redemption rates are better (though you won’t have access to as much inventory).
Meanwhile, if Suites Class is in your future, try to lock in a booking before the rates go up later this year.
