Scotiabank Passport and Momentum Cards Move to the New Visa Infinite + Tier

Scotiabank is rebranding two of its flagship Visa Infinite credit cards. As of April 25, 2026, the Scotiabank Passport® Visa Infinite* Card and the Scotia Momentum® Visa Infinite* Card will be renamed the Scotiabank Passport® Visa Infinite +* Card and the Scotia Momentum® Visa Infinite +* Card, respectively. Alongside the rename, both cards pick up a free 10 GB GigSky global data plan good for use in over 200 countries.

It's a quiet announcement, but for anyone who travels internationally even once or twice a year, this is one of the more useful card benefit additions we've seen in a while.

What's Changing on April 25, 2026

Scotiabank is moving two of its existing Visa Infinite cards into the new Visa Infinite + tier. Physical replacement cards bearing the new branding will arrive in the months following the launch date.

If you currently hold either card, your card number stays the same, your recurring payments continue without interruption, and your Scene+ points or cash back program continues exactly as it did before. There's no action required on your end to keep the card active or to be eligible for the new benefits.

The New 10 GB GigSky Global Data Benefit

The headline addition is a complimentary 10 GB GigSky global data plan, valid for 15 consecutive days and renewable annually for cardholders in good standing.

This is layered on top of an existing benefit on the current Visa Infinite cards, which is a 1 GB plan for 15 days. So in total, eligible cardholders will have 11 GB of free GigSky data per year, plus a 20% discount on any additional GigSky data purchases beyond that.

GigSky operates as an eSIM provider, with coverage in over 200 countries. For most one- or two-week trips abroad, 10 GB is more than enough to cover Google Maps, messaging apps, the occasional rideshare, and a fair bit of casual browsing.

Scotiabank is also introducing something called "Travel Essentials by GigSky," which gives cardholders unlimited access to certain low-bandwidth apps even when you don't have an active GigSky data plan running. The covered categories include messaging, navigation, email, and travel-related services, while higher-bandwidth uses like video streaming and video calls are not supported.

In practical terms, you should be able to send a WhatsApp message, pull up directions in Google Maps, or check your boarding pass without burning through your 10 GB allotment, even on days when you're not actively using your data plan.

It's the same activation flow that existing cardholders use today for the 1 GB plan. Download the GigSky app, link the card, and the eSIM data plan becomes available to install on your phone before you head out on your trip.
