Marriott Bonvoy Boosts 2025 Benefits for MGM Stays
Marriott and MGM Resorts are starting the New Year with a roll out of enhanced perks through their loyalty partnership.
As of January 1, 2025, Marriott Bonvoy Elite members staying at MGM Resorts will enjoy boosted benefits, including reciprocal elite recognition, points earning, and redemption opportunities, as well as points transfers between programs.
Marriott Bonvoy Boosts Benefits for MGM Collection Stays
In 2024, Marriott and MGM launched a long-term partnership with multiple components, marking a significant collaboration between the two hospitality giants.
Under the partnership, MGM Rewards members are able to access benefits at Marriott properties, while Marriott Bonvoy members are eligible to earn points and redeem for nights at MGM properties.
When first introduced, these benefits were only confirmed through the end of 2024. However, it’s now been announced that the perks will continue into 2025 with some enhancements. Keep in mind, to take full advantage of these benefits, you’ll need to book directly through the Marriott.com website or the Marriott Bonvoy app.
Several MGM properties have been integrated into the Luxury Collection giving Marriott Bonvoy members even more options to stay and earn points, including the Bellagio Resort & Casino and ARIA Resort & Casino, while the Delano has also been rebranded as the W Las Vegas.
As of January 1, 2025, when booking any MGM Resorts property, Marriott Bonvoy Elite members can enjoy the following benefits:
Silver Elite:
10% Marriott Bonvoy bonus points on qualifying stays
Gold Elite:
25% Marriott Bonvoy bonus points on qualifying stay
Welcome gift of 500 Marriott Bonvoy points per stay
Platinum Elite:
50% Marriott Bonvoy bonus points on qualifying stays
Enhanced room upgrades, based upon availability
Priority check-in
Complimentary 2:00 PM late checkout (based upon availability)
Welcome gift of 1,000 Marriott Bonvoy points per stay or $20 USD food & beverage credit per night of stay (increased from $15 USD previously)
Discounts to select shows at MGM Resorts Destinations, based on availability
10% retail discount at participating shops (exclusions apply)
Titanium Elite:
75% Marriott Bonvoy bonus points on qualifying stays
Enhanced room upgrades (based upon availability)
Priority check-in
Complimentary 2:00 PM late checkout (based upon availability)
Welcome gift of 1,000 Marriott Bonvoy points per stay or $20 (USD) food & beverage credit per night of stay (increased from $15 previously)
Discounts to select shows at MGM Resorts Destinations, based on availability
10% retail discount at participating shops (exclusions apply)
Ambassador Elite:

Waived resort fees
One suite upgrade at a Las Vegas hotel per year (up to a three-night stay)
Enhanced room upgrades (based upon availability)
4:00 PM late checkout (based upon availability)
Welcome gift of 1,000 Marriott Bonvoy points per stay or $20 (USD) food & beverage credit per night of stay (increased from $15 previously)
Complimentary self-parking
15% retail discount at participating shops (exclusions apply)
VIP check-in lounge access at W Las Vegas
Discounts to select shows at MGM Resorts Destinations, based on availability
1:00 PM early check-in (24 hours’ notice required)
Expedited valet and taxi service
Guaranteed hotel reservations within 24 hours
Fine dining priority reservations
Dedicated lines at participating restaurants, buffets and cashiers cages
VIP line access to select nightclubs in Las Vegas for members and a guest
Priority access at select shows and entertainment venues
Priority access at pool cabana, spa and salon reservations
Additionally, Platinum, Titanium, and Ambassador Elite members will receive a $30 (USD) food and beverage credit per night at the W Las Vegas.
Taking a quick look, there are three notable changes:
Higher food and beverage credit: $20 per night of stay for Platinum, Titanium, and Ambassador Elite members (previously $15)
Discounts to select shows: now available to Platinum Elite members based on availability (previously available only to Titanium and Ambassador Elite members).
Retail discounts: 10% for Platinum and Titanium Elite members and 15% for Ambassador Elite members (previously available to only Ambassador Elite members)
While these changes are overall positive, it’s little unfortunate that valuable benefits such as the resort fee waiver, suite upgrades, and 4 PM late checkout are still exclusive to Ambassador Elite members—a status that’s difficult for most to achieve.
It would be great if they could at least consider extending the 4 PM late checkout to Titanium Elite members, providing more differentiation from Platinum Elite status.
The announcement also didn’t include any information about the possibility of status matching from Marriott to MGM. This benefit was previously available when MGM was partnered with Hyatt, and its absence here is noticeable for members hoping to maximize value across programs.
However, MGM Rewards members can now link their accounts to receive benefits at Marriott Bonvoy properties, with the status match program extended to include MGM Rewards Pearl members:
Marriott Bonvoy Elite members can continue to enjoy benefits at MGM properties.
The Marriott Bonvoy MGM partnership encompasses 17 MGM properties in Las Vegas and US. Of those properties, five are directly affiliated with Marriott collection brands:
Bellagio Resort & Casino
ARIA Resort & Casino
Park MGM
The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas
The Delano Las Vegas
Meantime, 12 properties are marketed under the encompassing MGM Collection With Marriott Bonvoy brand:
Vdara Hotel & Spa
MGM Grand Hotel & Casino
The Signature at MGM Grand
Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino
New York-New York Hotel & Casino
Luxor Hotel and Casino
Excalibur Hotel & Casino
Borgata (Atlantic City, New Jersey)
Beau Rivage (Biloxi, Mississippi)
MGM Grand Detroit (Michigan)
MGM National Harbor (Maryland)
MGM Springfield (Massachusetts)
Earning Points
Marriott Bonvoy members earn Bonvoy points and elite night credits at MGM properties as if they were staying at most Marriott brands:
The baseline earning rate is still 10 Marriott Bonvoy points per $1 (USD) in qualifying charges
Multipliers on Bonvoy points for elite members will apply
Members will earn one elite qualifying night per night at participating MGM properties
Stays at participating MGM properties will code as Marriott spend when paid with a co-branded card
Earn 55,000 Bonvoy points upon spending $3,000 in the first three months
Also, receive an annual Free Night Award worth 35,000 Bonvoy points starting in your second year with the card
Also, receive 15 elite-qualifying nights every year and automatic Marriott Bonvoy Silver Elite status
Bonus Bonvoy points for referring family and friends
Annual fee: $120
However, there are a few key points to keep in mind:
Stays must be booked through Marriott sales channels (e.g. Marriott website and app) for them to count as a qualifying stay; stays booked through other channels, including with MGM directly, won’t earn Bonvoy points or elite nights
Resort fees and taxes won’t count towards Marriott Bonvoy qualifying charges
Room charges and other qualifying charges for Marriott Bonvoy won’t earn MGM Rewards Tier Credits or MGM Rewards Points
Restaurant, bar, entertainment, spa, and retail charges won’t count as qualifying charges for Marriott Bonvoy, but will for MGM Rewards
Free Night awards and points may be redeemed for stays at participating MGM Resort properties, but resort fees must still be paid, unless you’re an Ambassador Elite member.
Conclusion
Marriott and MGM Resorts are kicking off 2025 with enhanced perks in their loyalty partnership. Benefits that were set to expire at the end of 2024 will now continue for Marriott Bonvoy Elite members at MGM Resorts, with perks varying by status level.
As of January 1, 2025, guests at MGM Resorts can enjoy expanded Marriott Bonvoy benefits, including reciprocal elite recognition, points earning and redemption opportunities, and points transfers between programs.
Keep in mind, in order to take advantage of the benefits, you’ll need to book directly through the Marriott.com website or through the Marriott Bonvoy app.
