I’m excited to announce that I will be hosting the first-ever in-person meetup for Prince of Travel readers and the wider Miles & Points community here in Toronto!

The event will take place on Tuesday, December 5, from 6–8pm, at Marché Restaurant in Downtown Toronto. Marché is located on the ground floor of Brookfield Place at Bay & Wellington, a short walk away from both King TTC Station and Union Station.

Marche-Restaurant

In the past few months especially, I’ve been receiving dozens of requests and inquiries from people who are eager to connect with the wider Miles & Points community here in Toronto.

Some of you are new to the wonderful world of travelling in luxury using rewards points, while others are seasoned veterans who are keen on finding a circle of friends to exchange stories and tips.

It really feels as though Torontonians have been clamouring for a regular Miles & Points meetup, and I’m thrilled to announce that if the inaugural event turns out to be a success, I have every intention of hosting it on a regular basis going forward.

Why You Should Attend

No matter who you are and where you are along the journey, attending this meetup is a surefire way to bring yourself up to speed on all the latest tricks and strategies.

For those who are new to the game, this is a golden opportunity to connect with other like-minded individuals and learn from some of the most experienced practitioners in the community. As I’ve said before, a strong and reliable network is arguably the most important asset in this hobby. People tend to be hesitant to share stuff with online strangers, especially when they feel that they’re sharing with someone less experienced than themselves. At an in-person event, however, trust and camaraderie are easily built, and the information flows much more readily.

For the more experienced heads in town, I invite you to come down for an evening of casual chatter on your awe-inspiring upcoming trips, your sweetest redemptions, the current best practices in Miles & Points given a spate of recent changes… whatever goes!

And for those of you based in Toronto who recently attended PointsU in Calgary, this is a chance to catch up with everybody a month on from the conference and share your stories on what you’ve tried to implement and which brick walls you’ve been hitting.

Building Our Community

Personally, throughout my journey in learning to travel on points, I’ve benefited greatly from developing a strong network over time. I’d be a shadow of where I’m at today, if it weren’t for some dependable contacts who’ve helped me out countless times.

That’s why I truly believe that even putting in just a little bit of time to build up our community here in Toronto will pay off tremendously for everyone.

I always tell people that by attending events like this, you’re securing an incredible amount of freedom when it comes to travel for yourself and your loved ones. That freedom can take the form of luxury first class trips and fancy hotel stays, or it can mean a higher quantity of trips to more varied locations. The idea is that Miles & Points simply redefine what’s possible – the choice of where to go, how long to stay, etc. remains up to you.

RSVP Now

The event is FREE to attend, but please do support the venue by ordering food and drinks. Marché is one of my favourite places to go for a meal or an event due to its unique dining concept – it offers made-to-order dishes from a variety of international cuisines, served in a market hall setting.

Everyone is given a dining card for the duration of their stay in the restaurant, which is used to order individual dishes at the market’s “stalls”, and you then present your card for payment at the end.

It promises to be a fantastic occasion, so if you’re interested in attending, please RSVP using the Eventbrite below, or by following this link. +1’s are of course always welcome. Please note that we’ve been allocated a room that fits at most 35–40 people, so space could fill up quickly – although I’ll re-evaluate in the event that demand is overwhelming.

For those of you who are relatively new to this wonderful game of ours, if you’ve registered to attend, feel free to drop me an email to get introduced. I’d love to get to know your story, hear about your dream destinations, and figure out how I can best help you along the journey. And if anyone has any questions about the event, don’t hesitate to reach out as well.

See you at Marché on December 5!
