Aeroplan Adds Partnership with Air Inuit
Aeroplan has added a new partnership with Air Inuit, an airline founded by the Inuit of Nunavik in 1978.
With its fleet of 36 aircraft, Air Inuit offers service between a number of destinations throughout Nunavik, as well as La Grande, Montreal, Quebec City, Sept–Iles, and Schefferville.
As of October 1, 2025, Air Inuit passengers will be able to earn Aeroplan points on their flights. The amount of points you’ll earn depends on the fare class purchased, as illustrated in the below chart:
Christian Busch, President and CEO of Air Inuit, had this to say about the new partnership with Aeroplan:
“This exciting new partnership is meant to deliver additional value when people travel with Air Inuit. Aeroplan gives our passengers new ways to benefit from travel, including access to a broader travel network. This collaboration reflects our commitment toward continuously improving the travel experience, including benefits, for the people of Nunavik.”
Full details about the partnership can be found on the Air Inuit website.
Redeem Aeroplan Points for Air Inuit Flights (in 2026)
In the first half of 2026, it’s expected that Aeroplan members will be able to redeem points for Air Inuit flights. An exact date hasn’t been announced yet, but we’ll be sure to update our website when it comes into effect.
While the exact redemption rates aren’t yet known, I’d suspect that Air Inuit flights will become a “Select Partner” for the purposes of award pricing, which means that they’ll be priced dynamically in a similar way to other Canadian regional airline partners such as Calm Air, Canadian North, and PAL Airlines.
Most one-way itineraries between Montreal and Quebec City and destinations throughout Nunavik should fall within the first two distance bands, which means that you can expect the “Starting at” prices to begin at 6,000–10,000 Aeroplan points, with median values of 12,900–13,600 points.
Based on what we’ve seen with redemptions with other Canadian regional airlines, I’d expect the redemption values for Air Inuit flights to be slightly above the listed median values, though we won’t know for sure until they go live.
As a reminder, Aeroplan introduced “Select Partners” (which include Canadian regional airlines) earlier this year.
While the redemption rates are higher than what they were when regional partners were subject to fixed pricing, there’s still plenty of opportunities to get great value from your points when you redeem them with Canadian regional partners.
I’d expect the same to be true for Air Inuit redemptions, though we’ll have to wait to see exactly what they look like before we draw any firm conclusions.
Conclusion
Aeroplan has just announced a new partnership with Air Inuit, through which passengers on Air Inuit flights will be able to earn Aeroplan points as of October 1, 2025.
Starting in 2026, Aeroplan members will be able to redeem points for flights with Air Inuit, which could become another valuable redemption opportunity.
If you’re a frequent flyer with Air Inuit, be sure to attach your Aeroplan number to your booking starting in October, and then keep an eye out for redemptions starting in 2026.
