Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts has become one of the most recognizable luxury hotel brands in the world. The company originated with a small footprint in Canada, but there are currently over 100 properties in their portfolio worldwide.

While Four Seasons doesn’t have a loyalty program for earning and redeeming points, and room rates are quite expensive, there’s still a way to squeeze extra value out of a stay.

This is accomplished by making a booking through the Four Seasons Preferred Partner program.

What Is Four Seasons Preferred Partner?

The Four Seasons Preferred Partner program incentivizes travellers to book Four Seasons hotels by offering additional benefits and perks at no extra cost.

While the program is available to everyone, you won’t be able to make these bookings on your own. Rather, booking a stay with Four Seasons Preferred Partner can only be done through an authorized travel advisor.

Book the Four Seasons Whistler with Preferred Partner and receive extra perks at no additional cost

Every single Four Seasons property participates in the Preferred Partner program, and to further sweeten the deal, the price you pay is exactly the same as if you were to book with Four Seasons directly.

In fact, unlike other similar programs, such as Virtuoso or Marriott STARS, the Four Seasons Preferred Partner program can be combined with any available rate, such as prepaid and promotional rates, and not just flexible rates.

Note that you can also book Four Seasons Private Retreats through Preferred Partner. Private Retreats offer up villas and residences at 27 different properties, where you can enjoy more space during your travels.

What Are the Benefits of Booking Through Four Seasons Preferred Partner?

The benefits you receive when booking through Four Seasons Preferred Partner differ depending on the property. Generally speaking, you can expect to receive:

  • Complimentary breakfast for two, per room
  • A $100 (USD) property credit for room bookings or a $200 (USD) property credit for suite bookings
  • One-category room upgrade

Additional benefits that may be offered at select properties include early check-in and late check-out, which is subject to availability, as well as a Third, Fourth, or Fifth Night Free.

Complimentary breakfast offered through Preferred Partner is unique, in that you can choose to eat in the hotel’s restaurant, or in the comfort of your room with in-room dining.

Furthermore, the breakfast is for two people per room, so if you book a Four Seasons Private Retreat or a suite with multiple bedrooms for more than two guests, then more people would be eligible for the complimentary breakfast.

How to Maximize Value with Four Seasons Preferred Partner

If you’d like to book a stay at a luxurious Four Seasons hotel, you’ll want to leverage Preferred Partner benefits with a few other opportunities to make sure that you’re getting the best value possible.

Combine Four Seasons Preferred Partner with Promotional Offers

Aside from the standard Preferred Partner perks, each Four Seasons hotel may offer its own additional benefits. In order to find out if any are available, simply search for your desired Four Seasons hotel, and click on “Offers”.

For example, if you book a stay of at least four nights at the Four Seasons Whistler until April 9, 2023, you’ll receive the Fifth Night Free.

Other public offers may include late check-out, discounts on weekday stays, and extra hotel credits. Any of these additional inclusions can be combined with the benefits offered through Four Seasons Preferred Partner.

Therefore, you should always check for available public offers, in order to see what can stack with the Preferred Partner benefits.

Book Shorter Stays

As hotel credits are only given once per stay, no matter how long your stay is, you’ll get the most relative value out of this specific benefit if you book a shorter stay.

Note that making multiple consecutive bookings will still only count as one stay for the purpose of receiving the $100 or $200 (USD) credit.

Compare with Virtuoso and Amex FHR

Many Four Seasons hotels can also be booked through Virtuoso or American Express Fine Hotels & Resorts (FHR). Through both programs, you’ll receive similar benefits as if you were to book with Four Seasons Preferred Partner.

Below is a table that summarizes the similarities and differences between Preferred Partner, Virtuoso, and Amex FHR.

The main difference is that the $100 or $200 (USD) credit benefit through the Preferred Partner program can be more flexible. It’s not limited to just the spa or the restaurant, as the credits offered through Virtuoso or Amex FHR might be, but can rather be used for any on-site amenity.

Furthermore, only suites booked through Preferred Partner are eligible for a $200 (USD) credit. Suites booked through Virtuoso or Amex FHR only receive a $100 (USD) credit.

Another difference is that the complimentary breakfast offered through Four Seasons Preferred Partner can be enjoyed in your room or in the restaurant, whereas in-room dining is usually excluded as an option through Virtuoso or Amex FHR.

Keep in mind, however, that Amex FHR offers guaranteed 4pm late check-out, whereas Preferred Partner doesn’t provide late check-out in any capacity as a standard benefit. Rather, each individual hotel may include it on a promotional basis.

Lastly, Four Seasons hotels generally prioritize upgrades for bookings made through its own Preferred Partner, compared to the other two booking channels.

Booking through this program affords you extra perks, including hotel credits, room upgrades, and complimentary breakfast, along with other benefits offered by individual hotels.

If you have dreams of celebrating a special occasion at a Four Seasons hotel, or even if you’re a frequent visitor at any of their properties, make sure to get the best deal by booking with a Four Seasons Preferred Partner travel advisor.
