Video: When Can We Travel Again? March 2021

With COVID-19 vaccination rates ramping up slowly around the world (even if it’s a bit too slowly for our liking here in Canada), I wanted to start a series of videos to check-in on the resumption of travel over the course of 2021.

We’re still in the very early stages, with onerous restrictions for returning travellers here in Canada, but with vaccine timelines accelerating as we go, there’s a lot of hope that we’ll be able to take some nice trips later in 2021 once we’ve gotten vaccinated.

In our March 2021 update on “When Can We Travel Again?”, we recap Canada’s poorly-implemented hotel quarantine restrictions, take stock of our progress in rolling out vaccines, preview the upcoming “vaccine passport” that we’ll all become very familiar with, and look ahead at which destinations are most likely to open soonest once international travel is feasible.

Without further ado, you can watch the video below:

American companies wanting to ensure they have adequate supply at home before exporting? Don’t blame them. I have no issue with it.

I am hoping that I will still be able to take my booked trip to Israel and Turkey commencing September 10. As to the vaccine rollout I believe we are doing a decent job considering the supply slow down through no fault of out own. I am just not thrilled with the U.S. hoarding all the vaccine from companies that have contracts with other countries. It appears they may release some of the AstraZeneca vaccine they have stockpiled right now. I guess it would be better to release rather then flushing it once it is past its best before date. I personally like the idea of a vaccine passport and this passport should be used for all travel (plane, ship, bus, car) when crossing a border.
